Which OKW buildings have 1 bedroom + studio lock-off?

Can any one tell me which buildings have a 1 bedroom lock off? We are going with family, planning on a studio plus a 1 bedroom. With the lock off we can share the kitchen area and still have our own space too!! Thanks.:D

The lock-off is a two-bedroom. You would reserve a "two-bedroom lock-off" not a studio and a one-bedroom (although that is what you end up with). They are scattered throughout the resort and I think there is at least one in every building.

I could be wrong here, and I am sure someone knows this better than me, but aren't all 1 bedroom and studio units at OKW capable of being '2 bedroom lockoffs?' I guess what I am asking is are there any dedicated 1 bedrooms and studios at OKW? Or is there always the connecting door? If this is true wouldn't every building have a potential 2 bedroom lock off?

There are both two bedroom lock offs and dedicated two bedrooms at OKW. If I recall, the dedicated does not have the small Refridgerator and Microwave.

Twice we have had a dedicaated 2BR at OKW. There is no mini kitchen equipment.

You are right, there are actually many dedicated 2 bedrooms, and there is no mini kitchen in the 2nd bedroom of the dedicated 2 bedroom. This is the type of unit I usually stay in. I was just wondering if there were any dedicated studios and dedicated 1 bedroom units at OKW...

I don't think so. Although there is the possibility that I did stay in a dedicated studio. My mind is failing so I can't say with 100% conviciton that they exist.....the studio was in the center of the building, rather than an end where they are usually situated. If there are some dedicated one-bedrooms and/or studios, they are a rare exception.

One other difference with the dedicated two bedroom, there is only one entrance door to the whole unit. This could be a safety consideration for small children staying in the lock-off portion.

I stayed in studio room 1320 and I don't remember seeing a connecting door. We were only there really to sleep one night so I can't tell you for sure.

Yes there are both dedicated 1 bedrooms and studios I have stayed in them - but it has been a long time - I think the studio was in building 26 and the 1-bedroom in 18 or 35?

Oh I really love that studio it was my first trip as a DVC and the bath room is very large - I which I could remember the room number - but it was way before I found my way here or even to an internet - back in 93. on the room had a view of the golf course - wasn't impressive. (I enjoy water views).

but in all that time since - all the other studios have been lock-offs.

I think I will keep the seperate rooms. Then we will all have our own entrance to come and go without disturbing each other. Thanks for all the info.

I hope my question didn't confuse the question that you asked... If you request a 2 bedroom lockoff you will be getting basically a one-bedroom and a studio that are connecting. You will have all the same features of an individual studio and 1 bedroom, plus the two rooms will be connecting so you can walk between them, or close them off as you desire. If you really wanted to have the 2 seperate entrances, but still have connecting rooms, by all means request a 2 bedroom lock off. They have them in almost every building at OKW.. If you want the complete privacy with no ability to walk between rooms you can reserve two seperate rooms. One thing to consider though is if the points for a 2 bedroom is lower than reserving a seperate 1 bedroom and studio.

sgtdisney, No not confusing at all. A 2bedroom lock-off is slightly lower in points. I thought it would be nice having everyone close together. DH want complete privacy now, so to him it's worth the extra points. Then he doesn't have to be with my relatives 24/7. I am just happy to be going!!!

To directly answer your question... All buildings at OKW have lock-off Studios and 1BR villas. While I'm not aware of any dedicated studios or 1BR villas, it is certainly a possibility- since I have not yet stayed in all of the rooms (...but am working on that as a goal). ;)

Every building does have lock off and dedicated 2BR villas.

Enjoy!

Doc the studio was in building 26 - it was my first trip and as I say I have yet to stay in another dedicated studio. It made quite an impression! much bigger than what I though it would be.

So I won't be surprise if it is only reserved for 4 people. It was definitely bigger than most of the studios - but as I say the view was pretty sad!

I have stayed in dedicated 2 bedroom and 2 bedroom lockoffs at OKW. The difference was that we requested a lockoff when friends were staying with us for only part of our stay. That way we didn't have to use points for a 2 bedroom for the entire stay.
In the lockoff the second bedroom has all the amenities of a studio. The last time we were in a lock off our friends were able to make coffee etc. without disturbing anyone in the living room.
When we get a 2 bedroom we always request Old Turtle Pond because the buildings from there and higher have the second door to the master bath. This gives more privacy in the master bedroom when there are other guests.

Would the "studio/lock-off" option also have it's own temperature controls as well??
That might be important to someone--some like it hot, some like it cold.

Yes, the lock-off studio can function independently. It has the mini kitchen, its own entrance, porta crib, vacuum and heating/airconditioner control.
