I will always love my Birkenstocks! My son HATES when I wear them, but they have always been the most comfortable shoe IMO.

I voted other. I am not a big fan of the look of sneakers, but if I have to wear them I wear my asics. I have not worn sneakers to the parks in a while. A few months ago I was talking to a friend in CO that is really into hiking about our upcoming Disney trip, he recommended insoles in the shoes I wanted to wear, but I was worried about support. So I gave them a try I brought a couple different insoles and I put then in my toms and my uggs. Problem solved I can wear almost any of my flats with great support without having to have the ugly look of sneakers.

Crocs. I love my Go Walks so much and they are so comfortable, but they make my feet sweat and smell and nobody wants that for a week. :rolleyes1

I had never sprnt $90 + for a pair of shoes but I love my Asics. The gel footbed is fabulous and my feet did not hurt. I come home from work and put on my Asics around the house.

For some reason I had forgotten about Merrells. My husband loves those. I am ordering a couple different kinds, and I think I will go ahead and throw the Crocs and Teva in the mix as well as Skechers and Keens. I'll just keep ordering them until I find a couple that I really like. I am hoping that the PP poster is right about the crocs not being too narrow. I actually like the look of the Cleo sandal and a couple others.

They may not be the most fashionable, but I love Birkenstocks!

I was starting to think I was the only one!! I love my Disney Birkenstocks!

I just got my first pair of Skechers about 2 months ago. They are the Athletics line and they also have the thick memory foam. I really like them so far. Next week I will be trying them out at the parks.

Just curious, if the Athletics line is so much cushier, what is the reason the GoWalks has such a big fan base? What is it that makes them so comfy if not for a soft/squishy sole?

Everyone is definitely going to have a different opinion about shoes :)

For me, I have a pair of slip-pon Skechers Go Walks and a pair of lace-up Go Walks and I LOVE LOVE LOVE both of them for walking around Disney!

For flip flops, I love my Reefs.

Another vote for Merrell! :thumbsup2 They come in wide widths and together with orthotics took care of my plantar faciitis. Good luck to you! :goodvibes

I also wear Merrell in wide width and they are the tops for comfort and cushion for me.

I started wearing Birkenstocks for my Plantar's Fasciitis and they have worked AMAZINGLY. I ended up buying 3 pairs, plus the athletic inserts for my sneakers
Definitely break them in before wearing them to WDW though.

I've settled on Asics GEL-Kayano. I've strayed to try others and always regretted it. Lesson learned. I'd give my right arm for a pair of flip flops that would support my poor overworked "dogs" as well though!

You really just need to try shoes on. What works for one person will be miserable for another.

Absolutely.

To one person, crocs will cause a PF flareup. To another, the same Crocs will heal PF.

I have wide feet and am fine with Crocs Athens flipfops (cushy) and (not that I wear these to the parks) the lined classic-looking Crocs. I wouldn't try any of the thinner looking ones. The thing with Crocs is that they are made a bit wide but your foot isn't supposed to touch much of the side. At least with the traditional clog style ones. That's where wider feet people run into trouble. Looks like they fit, but in reality they don't.

If you're looking to wider shoes, I'm not sure what Keen shoes you are going to find. I can't squeeze my feet into a Keen, and I've tried. Looking at their website, the one Wides are the hiking shoes. That's not my choice for the parks. :)

You just have to find what works for your specific foot.

I have tried the GoWalks and the Skechers with the Memory Foam.

I love love love all of my pairs of GoWalks. They are comfy, light weight, super flexible, stretchy (great for my wide feets). I've also used different styles of the GoWalks. I have a pair of ballet flat-style that are amazing, two pairs of regular sneaker style, both wonderful, and a pair of ones that almost look like Toms, and they're great too. I'm on my feet a lot for work and I wear GoWalks almost daily and have never had a problem.

Because of all that, I thought I would love the Memory Foam sneakers. What could be better than walking on a cloud all day? WRONG. They were horrible. They were the same size and width of my GoWalks but my feet both felt really squashed. The memory foam sole was nice, but everything else was a disaster. My feet swelled up so much in them (to be fair I was standing/walking ALL DAY LONG for a 9-hour shift) and they were so tight on the top of my foot that I got horrible blisters.

That being said, I have a pair of memory foam sandals from Nike, and they are totally amazing. I don't know if I would feel comfortable wearing them around the parks, but for an average day off, running errands, shopping, etc. they are so nice.

I love my go walk 2s (find them easier to slide on vs the original) I know they haven't received much support in this thread, but I could hug the designer. In addition to my go walks, I wore band-aid brand body glide on my heels and never got a blister last week during my trip to DC - and we walked 19 miles in 3 days! They were broken in (by a month or so) prior, so I'm sure that helped. I wish you and your feet great comfort in Disney!!!

I think that these memory foam sneakers didn't fit this poster's feet correctly. Different styles of shoes fit differently (even within the same brand), so it's always important to try them on. If your feet "feel squashed", these shoes don't fit your feet. You need a different size!

I'm the poster who suggested the Skechers memory foam sneakers, and tbought they were super-comfortable right out of the box. After many years of foot pain and problems (and surgeries!), I was so happy to find shoes that worked for me at WDW. I'll wear them every trip from now on.

I like Clarks, SAS. Teva and Sketchers. For a long day, the Sketchers or SAS. Clarks and Tevas are ok for a while. Crocs start burning the bottoms of my feet after a while.
