DW and I will be taking our first trip to WDW as parents this summer. We will have our soon to be adopted DS with us, he will nearly be 3. We have been to WDW many times, but never too many ;) ! We have been there as singles, engaged lovebirds, and happliy married, but never as parents. We have been looking forward to it for years , but we know that there are more "experienced" parents out there that know what resorts seem to have "perks" for a toddler, and we are asking for your valued input.
Thank you in advance for your plethera of knowledge.

Ok, lots of experience here. We have twins, now 4 yrs old, and we've taken them to WDW around 10x so far! We just love it there....anyway, I voted for BC for a few reasons. First reason being the sandy-bottom pool and your child's age of almost 3. I'm not sure if you've stayed at BC before, but there are mounds of sand to play in and also a whole area of a pool dedicated to playing in the sand and sand on the bottom of the pool as well. It's also very shallow so you can comfortably walk around in it. Another reason is Beaches & Cream, which has excellent ice cream treats which our girls love to have each night before heading up to our room. I lied....there are more than a few reasons I voted for BC! So here are some more reasons: With your child at almost 3 yrs old and never having been to WDW before, he will not be able to tell you he wants to do this and that -- so you can walk into Epcot each night for a nice meal, some attractions (our girls at that age loved to look at all the sea attractions and fish), stay for Illuminations (unless it's too loud for your child...), and then just walk back to BC and avoid all the crowds of people heading for the bus/monorail. We LOVED staying at BC for those reasons. We also love walking to the boardwalk to watch the magicians and other entertainment, restaurants, and snacks. Another perk is being able to walk or boat to MGM. Walking/boating/monorailing to parks makes things SO much easier on parents with young kids and stroller(s) because you don't have to worry about unloading the stroller and folding it up. Hmmm, I suspect I've missed a few things we love about the BC. Oh, you can rent surrey bikes (put your child in the front seat basket seat) and ride around the lake! It's beautiful at night especially during Illuminations! And BC also plays movies on the beach at night ~ very fun. Lots to do!

I could not agree more with everything that TJA shared about the BC!!!! It is our favorite. We have twin daughters who are 1 and 1/2 and we will be bringing them for the 3rd time in April and we can't wait. The BC is the best place for kids and is close to so much. We love the fact that we don't need to drive anywhere or wait for buses. THAT is a huge plus since it takes so long to pack kids up and they don't wait to wait for buses. Have fun!

BC gets my vote too. The pool area can't be beat, the rooms are "roomy", clean and bright, and the location convienent to everything. One poster mentioned that you don't need to load up and catch a bus everywhere, but I disagree on that...while you can get to MK via monorail, it requires you to walk to the front of Epcot, which would probably take twice as long as waiting for a bus, and wouldnt work if Epcot isn't open (thinking EMH here). AK of course requires a bus no matter where you stay.

We're AP holders, and have tried out every resort except GF...and we keep coming back to BC at least once a year.

I'm the poster that mentioned it's very convenient to walk/boat/monorail to parks because of not having to unload and fold the stroller. OP mentioned going to WDW several times, so I thought perhaps he was familiar with the layout of the Epcot resort area, etc. But just to clarify, when we stay at an Epcot resort, we plan an early day in Epcot and then as long as we're already in Epcot, we just catch the monorail over to MK. We're rarely in a hurry to get to MK and our girls just love to stroll around and look at everything, so this works very well for us! Especially at age 2-3ish -- they are content just looking around. Sorry if my earlier post was confusing! We also only go to AK one time during our trip (normally 10-day trips....), so we truly feel like we walk/boat/monorail everywhere we go, but I should've been more clear!

Anyway, good luck with your decision!
:)

We love the Beach Club. Last few trips we stayed there. DD was 2 and 3. DS 7 and 8.

Its within walking distance of 2 parks, plus the pool is awesome. And the boardwalk is a short distance away if you want some nighttime activities. There are roaming jugglers and magicians, my kids love. Plus we always rent the surrey bikes.

The WL is nice, but last time we stayed there the transportation was very slow.
