Crystal Palace, Cape May, Tusker House, or Chef Mickey's?

Please share which is your favorite and why. I'm interested in both the food and character interaction. We have one of these booked and we're looking to add another. Looking to see the top two favorites. Thanks!

The only one of these I have not been to is Chef Mickeys. I have read many bad reviews of CM although many love it as well. Our favorite is Tusker House. It is the only Donald-featured meal, and Daisy is also there (she is hard to find). The food is good, breakfast with an African twist, and delicious juice. Its a tradition for us on our AK morning. Cape May is very good but if you are not staying in that area it is out of the way to go there. Crystal Palace has good food for all meals (very good salads for lunch and dinner) and if you like the Pooh characters you will like it.

1. Crystal palace. You get in park early and the food was better then chef mickeys. The characters all came around timely and interacted with us"

2. Chef mickeys. The kids loved it here. They loved the dancing and the character interaction. The food was good but crystal palace food was better.

I voted for Crystal Palace because we have never missed eating breakfast there at least once during all of our trips. Tusker House would be a very very very close second.

Crystal Palace edges it out, just because we love the bright, airy atmosphere, being at MK before park opening (we try to get an ADR for as close to 8 am as possible), and the food has always been very good. Our DSs love Pooh and the gang.

Tusker House is also a favorite, with Donald and Daisy being a highlight. The juice at Tusker House is worth going for, all by itself! The food is great and the African-inspired dishes give you a little change from the usual breakfast fare. The character interaction has always been great there too.

We were not at all impressed with Chef Mickey's in our two experiences there and were mildly disappointed with Cape May, mostly because we were in a little side room (for both meals we ate there) and felt very isolated and void of atmosphere. The characters were pretty good there though.

Enjoy your trip!!

We liked the Crystal Palace so much we have never missed eating there on any trips. However, we do prefer a late breakfast or early lunch.
Last 2 trips we have done Tusker House and enjoyed it. DD was on mission to find Daisy last trip and were guaranteed to see her there. DD was leading the parade with Daisy so she was happy!
We do Chef Micky for dinner because I LOVE the salmon on the buffet. With delicious dill sauce, yum! Did I mention I love it?!

My top three in order are:

Chef Mickey - just for the character interaction with Mickey and friends. We go later in the morning and the characters spend more time with you. IF you ever ask my children where they would like to eat (even at home) they will tell you Chef Mickey

Tusker house - Donald and Daisy are there!!! I love the juice and they parade they do!! I love the theme of the restaraunt too.

Crystal Palace - Great selection of food. Characters didn't stay at the table as long which was a bummer, it wasn't even that busy.

Crystal Palace is the hands down winner for us...especially a pre-park opening slot. The food, service, and character interaction has made it our fave character breakfast.

Chef Mickey's (along with 1900PF) is a close 2nd for us.

We have never eaten at Cape May so I can't weigh in on that. We have eaten breakfast at Tusker House and it was horrible. Food was bland and even dried out at just after 8am, the service was spotty, and the characters had 0 enthusiasm. Of course, I know many people with great Tusker House experiences, but sadly our trip there was pretty bad.

Like most everyone else, I voted for Crystal Palace. But that's contingent upon getting a pre-RD ressie... otherwise, I'd have voted for Tusker House. Cape May is very good, but it's just a bit too difficult to get there if you're not staying right there.

Tusker House is my favorite. Only been there for breakfast, but the food was good, the wait time to go in was short, and the characters were great. It seemed each character gave our table more one-on-one time than we received at the other character dinings.

We really like Cape May Cafe, Crystal Palace, and Tusker House. I voted for Cape May Cafe because it is a must do for us each trip plus it is a more relaxed atmosphere than other character meals. Our least favorite is Chef Mickey's because the food is so-so and the characters are always in a rush.

Chef Mickey is my favourite, but we LOVE Tusker House too! I'm not bothered about Crystal Palace, but that's mainly because I love Mickey & gang, and I'm a huge fan of Pooh & gang.

We ate at Crystal Palace, Tusker House and Cape May on our most recent trip and very much liked them all and plan to return to each on our next trip.

Food quality was comparable at all 3 but if I had to rank them in terms of combination of food quality and character interaction it would be: (1) Cape May; (2) Crystal Palace; and (3) Tusker House. For us, Cape May was the best because it was the most laid back and the characters wern't as rushed. However, as other have noted, if you're not staying in an Epcot resort, it's sort of out of the way. In addition, the Crystal Palace and Tusker House have the advantage of getting you in the park prior to opening, which is really fun (especially in MK).

We haven't yet tried Chef Mickey's breakfast and are debating about adding it to our rotation because we're afraid we'll be disappointed with it, given how much we liked these other 3 (keep hearing about how the characters are more rushed and the food isn't as good as the other 3). We see the Fab 5 virtually wait-free right after RD at the Epcot Meet & Greet (between picking up our Soarin' FP and heading over to Test Track and Mission Sapce).

We LOVE the Crystal Palace for breakfast especially if you get an early ADR. The food is good and the characters are great. That being said the Tusker House is also very good. The food is good and as previously posted the juice is wonderful! If you make breakfast reservations at either of these two locations try to make them prior to rope drop this way you have the park to yourself to take amazing pictures without anyone in the background!:lovestruc

Tusker House, Crystal Palace and Cape May are ones that I would recommend. We've been very disappointed with Chef Mickey's the last couple times we have gone. They are officially off of our dining list.

The food has gone downhill and even the character interaction isn't quite what it used to be.

Cape May is our favorite. The food is great and the character interaction is awesome. This is also the most relaxing character breakfast that we have eaten at. Depending on where you are staying, it can be more difficult to get to. Our second favorite is Crystal Palace. The food is good and, as has been mentioned, you can get into the Magic Kingdom early. We have, however, experienced some long waits for some of the Winnie the Pooh characters.

I chose Cape May from your list.. The atmosphere is much more relaxed than the average character meal. After a few days in the park that sort of character meal is a welcome change! :) Plus Minnie, Donald and Goofy look great in their beach wear. The character interaction here is wonderful as well. We were able to see the characters multiple times and they spent quite a lot of time with our table. We have some great pictures of Goofy playing with our oldest daughter. She had a great time with him.

On to the food.. Seriously, my favorite breakfast buffet. I love the options. The vegetarian frittata is very, very good. And I love that they offer things that are a little different like asparagus or quinoa. And of course there are plenty of regular breakfast staples like Mickey waffles.

I think if they were to add Mickey to the mix here it would become my favorite character meal. :thumbsup2

LOVE the Crystal Palace! Have been wondering about Tusker House and am so glad I found this tread, we will definitly be trying it this year. :thumbsup2
