Hi everyone,

We're debating going to US one day on our upcoming trip in November. I'll be 20 weeks pregnant at the time and am wondering what I'll be able to ride.

I have no idea how rough the rides there are, as we have never been.

Here are the ones I'm wondering about

- Disaster
- ET
- Jaws
- Jimmy Neutron
- MIB
- Mummy
- Simpsons
- Shrek 4d
- Twister
- Woody

So which ones could I do and which ones should I avoid.

Thanks

It may be more a matter of what you feel like riding. I wouldn't hesitate with any of those you mentioned but then, I rode my horse right up to delivery with two pregnancies. You may however, be one that's cursed with morning sickness (which doesn't just happen in the morning) and may feel sick with just the thought of Jimmy Nuetron...:scared1:

I would check with your Obstetrician but the only one on the list that I see that might be iffy would be the Mummy.

Here is some ride info. Use this when talking to your obgyn about what they recommend. The final determination is up to you.

Disaster: a show, with the end part being a subway train that experiences an earthquake. The train shakes, tips, and there are bumps and lots of effects. Most of the moving is mild-moderate.

ET: Slow moving flying bike ride with some minor bumps/shakes and lots of animatronics. TAME. The lapbar comes down to your comfort level.

Jaws: Slow moving boat ride where you get attacked by a hungry shark. Some minor bumps from the shark, some explosions, chance of getting wet. TAME, but exciting.

Jimmy Neutron: Motion simulator with lots of tilting, shaking, and intense bumping/jarring at the end. Stationary seating available. Lapbar must come down to a specific point. Mostly tame, except for the last 30 seconds. Stationary seating is available.

MIB: Slow moving ride where you shoot aliens/opposing team for a score. There are several points of fast/intense spinning. The lapbar comes down to your comfort level.

Mummy: First half of ride: slow dark ride/coaster. Second half: high speed rollercoaster. Several drops, several hard turns, a few hard stops. No inversions. Lapbar must come down as far as possible and clear the minimum point.

Simpsons: full motion simulator with lots of tilting, shaking and jarring. No stationary seating. Lapbar must come down as far as possible.

Shrek: 4D show where the seats move a lot and sometimes intensely. Stationary seating available. Lots of water effects and 3D gags.

Twister: standing special effects show. The floor drops at the end.

Woody coaster: kiddie coaster. Lapbar must come down as far as possible. Rather tame.

Me too, even when I was pg with twins. They were both 7 pounders when they were born and, dare I say, "healthy as a horse."

I also went to Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, SeaWorld San Diego, and Universal Studios Hollywood in my first trimester when I was pregnant with my twins and rode everything. But check with your doctor.

When we were there last year I was a little further along than you were and the ones I stayed away from were all the coaster type rides. I did the shows, the Simpsons maybe was a tad bit too much and the chicken dance also was a little much but the rest were good. I really wanted to go on Dudley's Falls but when I got in the bar hit my tummy just a bit too much and so I had to get off :( but didn't want to chance it.

Hi Vickkii 19,
I'm a Medical Assistant in an Ob/gyn office. I have been to Universal numerous times.,You should be fine on everything except: Mummy (rollercoaster wouldnt risk it with the bars over your lap) Jimmy Neutron ( way to "Jerky") Same with the Simpsons although on the Simpsons you may be fine (I have only been on this twice can't remember about the bars)
If you Check with your OB MD he will probably tell you to stay away from everything with motion.
