We're on a Fantasy 7 day Western.

Also, are people still dressing up for formal night?

Is there any dressing up or festivities for Pirate night (if there is one)?

Maybe I'll bring black masks for pirate night? No, wait, those should be for formal night (black tie and black mask?)

Any other night themes I should know about?

Yes, some people dress up for formal night.

Pirate night is not as big as it used to be. No pirate show pre-fireworks.

Formal night is Sunday night. I forget which night was buchaneer takeover, not pirate night anymore. It was middle of the week!

We are on the March 26 Western. I emailed Disney to ask the same thing. Email back said formal night is Sunday, pirate night is Tues(on our 2 previous Western cruises it had been on Monday, so I was surprised it had been changed to Tues). Semi-formal is Thursday. All other nights are dress casual.

As PrincessShmoo said, some people dress up, but others still arrive in the MDR wearing shorts and "T's".
I would typically take a Tux with me, but for our HI-Vancouver cruise I'm opting to leave it home. Already have too much luggage (2 days pre in HI, 3 days post in Vancouver). I'll take a jacket and ties for the various 'dress-up" activities.

Formal night on any crusie line is hit or miss now…sad but I love formal night too longer cruises have formal and semi formal!

…but the pirate theme is so watered down now...it's comprised of photo backdrops and the characters making appearances. I mean what's the excuse not to have the main dining room staff dress up and have a pirate menu? Star Wars shows and fireworks are ok but pirate themed shows are not?

I think it is still due to the Covid restrictions and the Cruise length. On the EBPC we had a pretty good "Pirate Showing" by the crew and we also had (albeit slightly modified) show on Deck 9 right before the fireworks. Intr3pd also reported the Deck show for the WBPC cruise this month. Sorry the pic is blurry.
