Which Harry Potter movies, if any, do you think would be best to watch for young kids before going to the TWWOHP?
TIA :goodvibes:goodvibes:wizard::wizard::goodvibes:goodvibes

I believe the public areas of Wizarding World is themed up through #3, Prisoner of Azkaban, so if they are old enough for that, at least they would understand who Sirius Black is. Though I think that Forbidden Journey has stuff from Goblet of Fire...and Dragon Challenge might make more sense if you see up through that movie as well.

But I think they'd like it even if they just saw #1 and even without any knowledge of the movies/books. Sirius is someone you meet later on in the series (or once you start the series)...dragons simply exist, etc.

Thanks, we have all of them, and they like them, just wasnt sure if I should focus on anything specific :) :goodvibes my youngest has been going around casting spells all day with her hair pic!

Oh boy, I hope you have wands budgeted for! :)

The last 3 stories aren't really touched, so if you only get the chance to rewatch the first 4 movies I'm sure it's fine.

Back to souvenirs, though.... You will be amazed at how many things you are going to want. The merchandise people outdid themselves. Let your wallet be warned! :goodvibes

There is stuff at the WWoHP from Goblet of Fire (#4) also. The Dragon Challenge (big coaster) is themed from it, and there used to be a side show of Durmstrang and Beauxbutons dancers- not sure if it is still there.

Even if you don't ride the DC coaster, walk through the line to see the theme then take the chicken exit.

about how much is a wand?? anyone know?? Thanks for the info we have rewatched 1-3 and will do 4 tonight!

DH says $35. I think he's including tax, but he might also be taking off the 10% AP discount we have used. No doubt about it, they are spendy, especially since they are resin (don't drop them!). But WOW do kids love them.

Scarves are about the same. Wizard robes (which come in MANY sizes from something like xxxs to way into the larges) are over $100. etc.

We barely buy anything at WDW, but we lose our minds at Universal, especially with HP stuff.

Agree with what everyone else has said. The first 4 movies are basically what is covered. However, if you only watch the Sorcerer's Stone that should have everyone primed for the experience. Each year before we go, I force the family to watch all of the movies...even the ones that are not covered in the parks.

thanks all we have done all 8 in the past nine days! today we watched the last one from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. - snow day :)

Some of the fine details that you will run across in WW will be better understood from reading the books rather than watching the movies. The first three books are pretty easy reads - things begin to take a darker pivot around the middle of book 4.

Plus, the books are generally a much more satisfying (and coherent) experience - especially in the latter parts of the saga.

we leave this week, so reading all 8 for me and the kids (ages 7 and 10) wasn't going to happen, it was hard enough fitting in all 8 movies in 9 days - but we did it!

Was just wondering about the movies myself. We go next week. I bought all 8 movies on blu ray last week and we watched the first 3. We went to TWWOHP two years ago and none of us had seen any of the movies or books so nothing made any sense "What the heck is a muggle" I remember thinking. It was still impressive but this time around we are all excited to look out for all the stuff we have seen in the movies. We didn't watch beyond the first three because a couple people I asked said that after that they may not be the best for my 7yo?
