Which month would you pick?

My niece works at Disney and says the week after New Years to the 2nd week of February is the least crowded time. Also, the week after Thanksgiving to the 2nd week od December is also slow.

Thanks! I wouldn't mind going right after New years. That is a possibility!

I had the same question when I was planning our trip for last year. I researched here and at some "trip-scheduling" sites and basically everyone recommended Fall to me. We went in September and it was more than I could have imagined. We walked (no wait) onto about 75% of the rides, about 45% we were able to just stay seated and ride again. Our longest wait in line was 10 minutes for Soarin'. We only needed a FP for TSM (and only because it had broken for about 4 hours earlier in the day). I see more crowds at the mall on a Saturday. We had AAA parking and parked front 2 rows at each park.

My son is in Pre-K so he did miss a week of class. I actually discussed this ahead of time with the school and we brought with some school activities for him with a Disney twist (they were practicing drawing their letters/numbers and cutting/pasting so I bought some Dollar Tree Disney activity books along). If you're worried about school, discuss it with them and get assignments ahead of time. Maybe your kids could even do a project on some of the countries in WS or Epcot seems to be a treasure trove of science related topics. Maybe an independent project/report would be fun to do, a great memento of the trip and satisfy some school requirements?

Hands down I would go in October so that you can experience the Not So Scary Halloween Party in MK. It's a specatcular event and even though October might be on the cool side and the beginning of Hurricane season I found that even in the rain, the Halloween party was a blast. I went with a 25 year old daughter who has become such a fan she has an interview next week with Disney as a Cultural Ambassador for the Canadian Epcot pavillion. I have also been in January to run the marathon in the first weekend after New Years found it to be good weather. Have not yet done June. But there's still time.
