Wow, looking at the poll results I did not realize POFQ had so many fans! I was maybe leaning toward CBR or CSR so I could see them after their refurbishments, but I'll have to take another look at POFQ!

Dumb question can I vote for the cabins @Fort wilderness, they are technically a moderate?

I voted POR Riverside! We haven't had the opportunity to stay at the other mods, but love, love love Riverside. The theming is incredible and allows for such a release from the craziness of a Disney vacation. What's nice about POR is that you are able to reap the benefits of both Riverside and French Quarter. While Riverside is sprawling, FQ is much smaller and 5 minute walks to everything. The food at FQ is really good, better we thought than Riverside.

You also have boat transportation to Disney Springs through awesome swamp lands. FQ has their own bus and Riverside has four different bus stops so you can get on or off where it suits you. There is also Yee-Haw-Bob on some nights which provides an awesome atmosphere in the main building.

I wasn't considering the cabins at Fort Wilderness, just because there is such a big price jump compared to the other moderates and it's just the two of us so we don't need extra space, but your unofficial vote is noted and I will look into it on a future trip!

Pofq or Riverside are my very favorite & are our choices when we don’t stay deluxe. The grounds are gorgeous & its an easy walk between the two. Boatwrights is an excellent restaurant there. You have access to multiple pools & you can even go for a carriage ride!
Coronado is our least favorite( too much like a La Quinta to us) & we did enjoy CB many years ago. The major drawback there is the distance from some areas to get to the restaurants/pool.
Whatever you decide, you really can’t go wrong!
And I almost forgot about Yee Haw Bob! You should google him!

I've only stayed at Coronado Springs and Port Orleans Riverside. Both are beautiful, both have confused me every time I stepped out of my room because apparently I get lost easily...

Food court is better at POR. Buses are better at CSR. Both have pretty cool pools, and very nice bars attached. POR has the boat to Disney Springs. CSR has a fitness center.

I would say watch some youtube touring videos of all of the resorts and go with which one pulls at you most. Although, if you're going to convince your SO, the lower price of CSR may not be as difficult to overcome.

What did you love so much about it? Never stayed, always wanted to, but hesitate to move away from the Deluxe right now.

Idk, there was just something about FQ to me and DW. It might just hold a special place because our son was 4 1/2 months old for his first trip last year when we went but here is what i think about when someone says FQ:

The resort is so small and intimate, you can get from one side to the other in less than 5 minutes
There is also just 1 bus stop so you are in and out of the resort fairly quickly (I will admit once or twice we shared buses with riverside but it was very rare)
On top of that the longest bus ride was about 12-13 minutes to AK, everything else seemed under 10 minutes.
RS is a short relaxing walk if you want to go to use those restaurants and amenities but still stay in the smaller/quieter FQ
My wife and I love Disney Springs so the boat ride over and back was super convenient and relaxing
The food at sassagoula was awesome, and there are boozy beignets at scat cats!
The theming was great, the grounds were beautiful, the pool as not very crowded and the slide was pretty cool.

We have stayed at FQ, RS, and CSR (never CBR) but to me things like the non-bus transportation to DS, the single quick bus stop, the walking to another resort, and the size itself just made me feel like i never want to stay anywhere else. Again, after this years trip (and the next 2 trips which we plan on staying at different deluxes) we may say its "deluxe or nothing!" but in this case with the question being about moderates, i don't see us ever staying anywhere else in that category.

I see POFQ as winning poll but I see it as a place for people who don't want to walk and like very small compact place. Which to me is nice, it's peaceful and you can go next door and visit POR if you like or take the boat to DS. But we like the other mods better as far as wow factor and don't mind larger so for us it's probably our least fav, but all the mods are nice, a lot of bang for your buck. And definitely would not pick if higher priced unless you really need smaller place.

They're all pretty close, would say maybe CBR being our very first we stayed at, LOVE the theming with all the colors and Caribbean feel, CSR then POR being a very close second, though POR has the boat to DS, love the theming at CSR, and then POFQ being last. Only if forced to choose, I honestly love all 3 and POFQ just slightly less. Just felt a little plainer as far as theme, I mean the food court is cool but the rest of the property felt like property you could see somewhere else, not as Disneyish to us but it still is beautiful, more laid back. But some people love that it's small and quaint after the parks all day. I would not mean to put it down, I think any mod is great. And POFQ you can go next door to POR and also use boat but for more money wouldn't chose it.
