for those who have read my other posts, i apologize for posting again... making this decision has literally been driving me crazy...

we are going in May with our son (who will be 19 months when we go)... it is our first time going and realize now that i can save thousands of dollars by staying at a moderate resort instead of a deluxe one...

we plan on renting a car and can book thru AAA and get their diamond parking pass so that we can drive to each park and park hopefully close to the entrance...

i want the resort to be nice/in great condition (b/c i get really worried about the nasty factor when sleeping in a bed that is not my own)... and i want it to have a pool that will be fun for our 1 year old...

which moderate resort would you recommend and why?

thanks!

POFQ is the smallest resort so if walking is you key factor, then that is probably your best choice. If size doesn't matter, CSR is a great resort as well. Check out my CS website below for pics and info.

Have you ever checked out the resort pics at allearsnet. They are great and will really heolp you to make a decision that is right for your family.

We've stayed at CBR twice - the first time when our DD was about 6 months old. The rooms there are a little larger than the ones at the other moderate resorts and her portacrib fit perfectly into the space between the first bed and the door of the room. This may work as well at the other moderates, I'm not sure. Maybe someone who has stayed at one of the others can confirm that. Anyway, I really liked having her right next to my bed - she and I both slept better. There was also plenty of room for her stroller and I liked the double vanity w/shelves beneath in the bathroom - it gave us more space for all the baby stuff. We have also had good luck with always being near the parking lot so it was easy to get to our car. The only downside I can think of right now is that the pool is undergoing a refurb and I'm not sure when it will be finished. I would imagine that the "quiet" pools will be much busier than usual until after the main pool rehab is done. If it is finished by the time you go, tho, the kiddie pool at CBR is one of the nicest I've seen anywhere. It has neat themeing for both kids and adults. Good luck with your decision. I'm wavering on where to stay for our next trip, too. (We had sworn it would be offsite cause the kids don't do well sharing a room. But DS has decided not to go this time so I'm really tempted to stay onsite afterall. But the choices!!! It'll take me forever to decide.)

For the matter of convenience, I would pick Port Orleans French Quarter. It is a very compact resort, with the rooms having a 2-3 minute walk time from the main building.

There is a main pool with a water slide, and a kiddie pool. Because of the small size of POFQ, there are no "quiet pools" by individual buildings. Of course, you can use the pool facilities at Port Orleans Riverside.

Hope That Helps,
Simon :)

honestly, I would skip the mods and opt for a value. The themeing is way more fun with itty-bitties.
