which Moderate Hotel ??

We've stayed at all of them and our favorite is CSR. The resort and grounds are just beautiful, the pool and slide are so much fun, bus transportation is very good and we really enjoy the Pepper Market!!! :goodvibes

Can you give more info? How many people, adults, relationships (husband and wife, grandparents, etc.), children, ages of children, etc.? Is there anything that it is important to you/appeals to you? Smaller resort, best pool, proximity to some place, etc.

We have stayed at Port Orleans and Coronado
once a POFQ and three times at CS We loved CS the rooms are a lot nicer, we had problems with the meldew smell at POFQ and the carpet was wet the whole time,
Busses were better at CS as they don't share with another resort and a lot of the people there are there for confereces so they are not going to the parks or if they are they go later in the day.
The pool area is prettier.
The food court is a lot better and even though it is a convention hotel it was never overly crowded. The food was made fresh per order.
Best of all was the staff much friendlier.

If you want to be close to the food court and busses ask for the Casitas 3A --1E or Cabanas 9E if you are pool people Cabanas 8B we stayed at 3A and Cabanas 9E.

Hope you and your family have a magical time:wizard:

Based on what I've seen, I'd want to stay at Coronado! I love the themeing.

Next pick would be either Port Orleans resort, leaving Caribbean Beach in last place...

Happy planning!

We loved POFQ ... but I'd probably just choose the theme I liked the best.

If you are thinking about the CBR, I belive I read that their main pool is undergoing a major rehab over the winter months. Disney will compensate by adding slides to the smaller pools, but this might be an issue for you if you like the look of the pool.

We've stayed at POFQ and CS and POFQ wins hands down for us, but we don't have any children yet... We really liked how small POFQ was since we spend most of the days in the park and just come back to the resort to change or freshen up (and since we are always running behind schedule the size of the resort is better for us--plus POFQ is SOO PRETTY!!)

I do have to say though that the playground and pool at CS are superior to POFQ's and if you are going with kids and don't mind walking CS might be better for you!!

Its such a hard decision, we didn't know what to do either so we did both--Good luck! :thumbsup2

We all love POFQ! Our dds 9 & 11 thought the pool was awesome, we loved how small it was compared to other mods. We met the NICEST people there -not to say that folks at the other mods aren't, but compared to several deluxes we've stayed at, people were much friendlier. The bus service was great - we never waited more than 15 min for a bus to any location, and we were always the first pick-up, if the bus even went to POR, and we were the 1st to be dropped off. Our room was wonderful, clean and fresh-smelling.

My only complaint were the double beds - way too small for me, since I'm a bed-hog, but those are standard in the mods and I knew that ahead of time!

Port Orleans - Riverside. My second choice would be Port Orleans - French Quarter.

Riverside is "prettier" and a bit more "adult" than French Quarter ( I say this due to the sea serpent in the pool and the kitschy gators at FQ). But both are lovely resorts with the added bonus of a nice boat ride to Downtown Disney.

It is definitely what theming you enjoy though. Coronado's Southwestern theming does nothing for me.

I would say the CBR. It gets a bad rap, but the family and I love the place. However, the CBR main pool is going to be closed when you are going. This is a huge thing for us since we enjoy the resort almost as much as the parks.

Sooooo, I have never stayed there but the CSR seems to be a nice place based on all the reviews and pictures posted here.

We have stayed at CBR 2 times in the last 3 years and were very happy with it. With 2 small children there's the great pool and lots of stuff to walk around and see. The food court is limited however so we left a lot to try other places to eat.Now we are in the Disney Vacation Club and will stay at the Beach Club or Boardwalk.

I have stayed at POFQ and CSR (and staying at CBR very soon), and my favorite so far has been POFQ.

Another vote for CSR!! Check out my CSR website below for pics and info.

We've stayed at both CBR and CSR, and enjoyed both, but CBR was our overall favorite. I've never stayed in a more beautiful resort! We found the CSR food court extremely confusing and not family friendly (however, others on these boards love it), and really enjoyed CBR's food court.

At both resorts, the rooms were clean and well maintained. The pools at both were great, and the CMs helpful and friendly.

Have a great time on your trip! :goodvibes

POFQ its the smallest mod and its very relaxing, the pool is cool and the food is great. When the buses drop you off or pick you up your always first.

Our favorite is PO Riverside, fell in love when it was Dixie Landings. We always try to stay on the Alligator Byou side as we like the wooded feel and the critters that run around in the mornings. Also found that it seems easier to get to the food court from that side. The pool is awsome and kids really love it. Bar and whirlpool right there so parents can watch kids and relax.

Food court used to be open 24 hrs not sure if thats still the case. They have everything from breakfast to dinner and cold sandwiches, bakery all day and I know you can get pizza til 2am and they will deliver it to your room. The porch is a great spot in the morning to wake up with coffee. The resort sit down resturant Boatwrights is on the Riverside, and they have a pretty fair menu, breakfast and dinner.

The boat ride, The Sassgalosa Ferry, is a beautiful trip trough the back side of French Quarter, past the TreeHouses, along some of the golf courses all the way to DTD about 20min but really really nice. Stuff you won't see any other way.

Enjoy your trip and discover new things:hippie:
