Which moderate has the nicest pool?

Out of POR, POFQ and CBR, which has the best pool for a 9 and 11 year old? Our most recent trip was 12/01 to CBR and the kids loved that pool. We stayed at POR in 1999, but the kids were too young to really remember it. We've never been to FQ. My kids are very adventerous - loved Blizzard Beach and went on any and all slides/rides available to them. I thought CBR was great, but we were in a bldg. close enough to the main pool. At the time, they didn't charge extra for a "preferred" (closer) room. We're not willing to pay the additional money. So right now, I'm leaning towards one of the PO resorts. Any thoughts?

My husband and I stayed at POFQ last May. It has a really cool pool with a huge, colorful sea serpent that serves as the slide and main focal point for the pool (it's all a Mardi Gras theme). I personally think the POFQ pool would appeal the most to kids. I think it would be especially fun for them to stay at a new resort if they've already stayed at CBR. Another moderate to consider is CSR. It has a huge pool/activity area modeled after Central American ruins. The pool also features a slide as well. I think either one would be great for kids!

I've never been to POFQ, but in regards to the other moderates, I recommend the pool at CSR. It is a very big pool with a waterslide. In addition, if you want to take a swim and do not feel going to the main pool, they also have nice quiet pools that are usually not crowded. (I think one of the reasons for this is a lot of people are there for conventions, and are working while you're playing!)

from your list I would go with POR - it slide is a little wilder than POFQ and they are sister resorts - so the kids can try both slides.

POFQ has the serpent pool, while POR has Ole Man Island. They are both great, but one of the best things about POR is the quiet pools. Often the main pool is mobbed, and there are very few people at the quiet pools.

I don't think a 9 and 11 yr.old would be impressed with the slide at POFQ. Although fun to look at, it is a very dinky slide. I am pretty sure my daughter was four or five when she loved going down it.

CSR has a nice cool theme...BUT I LOVE POFQ's pool!! We enjoyed the pool at POFQ so much that we practically stayed in the pool almost the whole day! We got kind of burnt. My nose is still red from the sun! (Just got back from POFQ three days ago.) The water temp is very important to me and I must say, that their heated pool is definitely working! The water was nice and warm and didn't even get a chill when I went in. My kids enjoyed the pool slide a lot.

With your kids' age, they might enjoy CSR better cause the slide is longer and higher. And that is the reason why my children never went down the CSR pool slide is because it intimidated them.

Thanks for everyone's replies! The thing is, we really didn't want to stay at CSR, so I was wondering what was the best of the other 3 moderates. I'll think about rethinking the decision to NOT stay at CSR , but for now, I'm only interested in the other 3.

for ages 9-11, the POFQ pool will be babyish-the 11 year old might not even want to try it. Same goes for the slide at CBR. for tath age, CSR has the BEST pool (even better than some of the deluxes.

One main reason I would choose POR is for the "Quiet" Pools we loved them-- Magnolia Bend section has the mansion style pools -- huge/quiet and beautiful! Main pool was fun but spent most time at the quiet pool.

No they don't. POR and POFQ have seperate pools but if you're staying at one you can walk to the other. (But it's a decent walk.)

I highly recommend the POFQ pool. Mardi gras theme, very cool.

Just came back from the POR. My 2 DDs are 6 and 9. We based our decision on the pool slide as well because our DDs love waterplay. We originally wanted CSR because the pool looked awesome but the dates we wanted were sold out, so we went with POR.

While the POR main pool is beautifully themed, the slide was babyish. Both DDs went on it once and didn't go on it again for the 4 hours we were in the pool. They played with other kids their age whom they met in the pool and who also didn't look interested in the slide. They lost interest because it wasn't long enough, swirly enough, steep enough, etc. When we visited the POFQ, it was great-looking and nicely themed too, but a really babyish slide. If you want a more interesting pool slide, I think the other posters are right...CSR's the way to go!

If the slide is important to them, then CSR is really the way to go. Very nice pool area all together !!!

But if you had your heart set elsewhere I would pick POR. My kids at 10 & 5 said the POFQ pool was babyish and glad we were staying over in POR. We had gone to FQ for breakfast and a walk all around the resort to see if they wanted to try it next. The POR also has quiet pools which we enjoyed for our quick dips. We have stayed both sides and kids/DH prefer AB side.
