Which moderate has a sparkly crisp clean feel to it?

My boss is planning a trip and he's asking for my advice, ugh! (They have two girls, ages 4 and 9 and they only want to go to two parks, so I recommended MK and MGM.)

We absolutely love POFQ, but his wife is a true OCC, clean fanatic germ phobic person, and I don't think it has that crisp clean sparkly feel that she would be happy with.

I tried to talk him into the Yacht Club or the Grand Floridian, but he's going during regular season and he doesn't like the prices, so he now wants a moderate.

I suggested the Swan or Dolphin, since they appear to have that feeling to them, but I do not know about the rest.

Any suggestions? (besides run as fast I can, LOL)

Thanks a bunch!!!!!

Before I even finished your post I was thinking about the S/D! I think the new decor with the white spreads and the light colors makes the room look super clean. Plus the cotton linens that they use seem so crisp and fresh that I got a very "clean" feeling from the the place. I think it also helped that the renovations were just completed so everything just looked very "new."

POFQ was also just renovated, so for a mod that would be a good choice too I would think since everything should look newer and cleaner due to less wear and tear. But I've not stayed there so I can't personally comment on it.

Good luck! I sometimes hate giving any reccomendations to friends.. Once I did for CBR and they HATED it! They said it looked run down, towels gave them a rash (???) and the pool was too small. Yikes! But I've recommended the S/D a couple of times and everyone so far had really liked it.

POFQ POFQ!!! It was immaculate when I stayed there last May. I loved the drapes, polished dresser, crystal drawer pulls and the sheer tideyness of the resorts layout.:cool1:

We were just at POFQ in January and absolutely loved it!! Since it was just re-done it looks nice and clean....I've never stayed at any of the other moderates so I have nothing to compare it to in that category but I would definitely stay there again...hope this helps!

I would say CSR since it's the newest of the moderates. We stayed there last summer & absolutely loved it. It was a gorgeous resort and very, very clean. Our room was spotless and new looking and the grounds were immaculate. We even got our choice of rooms, and that was during a very busy time of year!

Yes, it is the newest, but also the one that has been the longest time since rehab. You may also want to note that there is only one sink per room, vs 2 at the other mods.

My vote, like the others, goes to PO-FQ. It is absolutely gorgeous and only reopened from a complete refurbishment of every room from top to bottom (yes, that means all new carpet, new bathroom facilities, new furniture, new drapes, etc.). When they make the reservation, I would ask for a super allergin cleaning, just so everything is in tip top order. Of course, if she is a neat freak with germ issues, she will likely clean everything from top to bottom regardless.... but it may make your boss's life a bit happier and give them a better start to their vacation if the extra cleaning is done beforehand!

Of course, since Swan/Dolphin aren't owned by Disney, how about there, so if anything isn't right, they will have to do something about it.... oh, I didn't say that, did I? Bad me, bad me!!!! :teeth:

Have to agree - POFQ!!! Having said that, I think it depends a lot on your Mousekeepers. When we stayed there last June, the resort was newly refurbished, and the rooms were beautiful. They were also fairly clean, but I did notice some things that Mousekeeping had overlooked, ie a sock from a previous occupant under the bed, a couple of cheerios in the corner, etc. Nothing that made me call the front desk - just little things. But that could have happened at the Grand Floridian as well as at a moderate. JMHO

We were at POFQ in February and it was amazing. I found it to be very clean and it is a beautiful resort.

POR is finishing up it's top to bottom refurbishment as we speak so it's the "re-newest" of the moderates. It's certainly got my vote!

Thanks so much for your opinions!

We stayed at POFQ right after the renovations and right after Hurricane Francis and I can't say enough good things about the place and the staff.

I think he would appreciate that POFQ is small and easy to get around since he wanted a moderate on the monorail. :rotfl:

The only reason I was concerned about recommending it is that I'm afraid that because of all the little tiles in the bathroom area, his wife may not see it as clean. She cleans her tile and grout after each bath her family members take. :confused3

I think she'd like the white bed linens and the light colors at the Swan & Dolphin and as Stitck1962 said, it won't be Disney, bad me too, LOL, but he just asked me if you can buy your park tickets at the hotels, and I, like an idiot, told him how great having a room key is, LOL.

I gave him www.allearsnet.com to look at the pictures to determine for themselves. I think I'll play stupid from now on.

Thanks and thanks for understanding too!

I love the Swan and Dolphin, but they are deluxe resorts, not moderates. Depending on when your boss is traveling, the rates could be reasonable or quite high - as in over $300/night.

He does realize that there are no moderates on the monorail line, right?

yes, but I had to explain how you get what you pay for with a deluxe, restaurants instead of food courts, etc. ugh, lol. Thanks!

I just noticed that he's printing stuff out on CBR as I type. I didn't like how big it was when we stayed there in 96. I think I remember having to take a bus to the big pool? and it seemed to take forever to get to and from the parks.

His primary reason for staying on property (they rented a home a few years ago and just did Sea World) is to be able to hang out at the pool and go back and fourth from the parks to the hotel.

I don't know if I should volunteer more info/advice or not?

Thanks!

Swan/Dolphin has an allears rate at around $150, sometimes lower. They also have AAA discounts. POFQ or POR in the mansions would be my second choice.

Wrong. CSR has just undergone rehab last year.
I can attest to that! Our room was....nice!! Clean..very sparkly crisp clean and you can feel it! Fresh..and very new! The carpet, the bedsheets, the light fixtures...very very nice! The tables and chairs freshly painted? or maybe they are new too? And now they have the frig in the room, but it is in this cute little cabinet. I didn't even know that it was a cabinet for the frig. Nice touch!

They've decided on POFQ! He said he read a bunch of good reviews and that's the one they like best because of the smaller size. They can afford to stay at a deluxe, so I really hope they like it.

Thank you Fantasia for the CSR info. We like to try new places, and I've never really considered it before, so I've added it to my list of places to stay. Btw, the picture of you and your kids is absolutely beautiful! I've noticed it before and I can't explain it, but it makes me smile.

Thanks everyone!!!!
