I know that no one can make up our minds for us but your opinions and advice would be hugely appreciated
My husband, daughter and I were last at WDW in May 2015 and we're planning on going back late August 2019.

We know we want to stay at a moderate and have stayed at POR and CBR and loved both but probably more POR. POR is £500 more but I know that there is construction at CBR and Coronado (haven't ruled that but is again £500 cheaper than POR same as CBR). I don't know what the construction will be like next AUgust.

What would you do? Will it be worth spending the money to avoid construction?
Many thanks in advance :flower3:

I don’t know if it is the same price or not but what about trying POFQ?

We were at Coranado at Christmas and the construction was not a problem. They have been renovating rooms section by section the last three times we have stayed there and it has never caused us a problem. You can see the walls and big construction equipment where the tower they are building is but it had zero impact on us since we were in Casitas. We loved it and and after 3 stays now, it is fast becoming our favorite moderate.

What do you like about Coronado over the other mods? Thank you.

Coronado is our favorite moderate without question. We love the pool area (pool, hot tub, bar, ping pong), the rooms are great, the buses run consistently (per our 7 trips), panchitos gift shop, the fountain when you first walk in, the lake views, the hammocks......

Just returned from our first stay at Coronado Springs. I loved it. I can definitely see how some people would have trouble enjoying the beauty with the large hotel building being constructed and the work (prep for new restaurant) going on in the middle of lake, but it didn't bother me. I think by August 2019, the major projects will be done or almost done?

We were in a refurbished room. I liked the touches of 3 Caballeros theming and especially the fact that our suitcases fit under the bed. It was also nice that, in addition to a door on the shower/toilet area, you could close off the sink/closet area from the rest of the room. (I don't remember being able to do that in our POR room years ago....not sure.). The room was big enough for a rollaway.

The mods have become our "go to" resort level, with the best bang for your $$ and we have enjoyed all 4 of them. For us, we like them in this order, POFQ, POR, CSR and CBR.

POFQ is my absolute favorite resort at WDW. But we usually stay at POR because it's DD15's favorite. Next year I'll be celebrating my 40th birthday, so we're staying at FQ. :D

I have stayed at POR, POFQ, and CSR. I was leery about CSR as I've always heard about how big it is but I quite enjoyed it and would stay again. Of these 3 POR is definitely my favorite! The theming is just so much more beautiful, IMO.

I've stayed at POR and CBR (pre-construction) and really enjoyed both, but would choose POR if I had to recommend just one. We loved the atmosphere, the food options, and the boat to (then) DTD.

(POFQ is definitely on my "try" list as well, though.)

We usually don't stay in a moderate the entire trip, just a night or two during a split stay then we move over to a deluxe but the Christmas trip we stayed the entire time. I like something about all the moderates, I haven't stayed at POFQ and probably won't just because I don't like the look of that court jester outside and the outside of the rooms look a little more motel like than the rest of the mods. I just stay at whichever one is less at the time I'm booking. CS is pretty centrally located and other than MK, it didn't take long to get to any of the parks. Since we were in Casitas, we were at the first bus stop, which meant no crowded buses in the morning and even if they were crowded on the way back, you got off fast. The Mayan Grill is one of our favorite TS restaurants on site and we love the pool (hot tub area) and pool bar. I walk every morning and it's beautiful to walk around, but then again so are CBR and POR.

Discounts of any kind do not usually apply to POFQ

CSR casita's are the first bus stop to the parks and has the biggest quit pool (a lap pool)

Just my FYI

It's my understanding that by the time you go the skyliner will be operational and available from CBR -- and most of the construction will be done. I would totally consider staying there, especially if it's a little cheaper, for the location and transportation options alone.
