I know this has been asked before, but I can't find it. A friend is planning a trip this summer - wife, hubby, teenage son and son's friend. They want to stay at a moderate and don't want to spend $$ on getting 2 rooms and the boys don't want to share a bed. Which moderate is big enough that you can get a fold-up/trundle bed? Can't remember if it's Riverside or Caribbean. Thanks!

HI! It's Port Orleans Riverside. Remember, the trundle bed is large enough for someone around 5 feet. I am five feet two inches and just fit into the bed!

Thanks Melika! I had some time and clicked around and found out that it was Riverside, but it looks like it won't work for my friend - I don't think either her son or his friend are short. They'll probably have to downsize to the All Stars and get 2 rooms.

Hi-
Afriend of mine on these boards tried to get POR to guarantee a trundle bed room as she had DH and 3 little ones. THey said that they COULD NOT guarantee the room since one of her children was under 2 and thus only 4 were actually in the beds.Because of this policy, my fellow DISer was hesitant to book Riverside. Anyone know for sure? Threehearts

You can get a rollaway at Coronado Springs for an additional charge. It would likely end up being less than 2 rooms at the AS.

If your friends have government or teachers discount, you can also get a room at Swan or Dolphin with a roll-away for nearly the same price, much larger space than Coronado. Two rooms at All Stars will generally come in a bit cheaper, though. But you still get much more for the money at Swolphin. Just booked this last week for us.

They don't have to get 2 rooms, they can stay at Riverside and ask for Alligator Bayou (only area with trundle bed) or go to any of the other moderates (or even one of the values although the room would really be cramped) and get a roll away. We got a roll away at the All Star Sports and it cramped the room but it was only for 1 night. If I was going with a rollaway at a moderate, I would choose Caribbean Beach because the room is bigger. As long as they don't go over the 4 people rule, they should be fine.

With teens they might even want to look into the Fort Wilderness cabins. Eating some meals in the room might more than cover the additional cost. Plus it would give mom and dad private sleeping quarters.

or one of the kids can just sleep on the floor :D They could bring an air mattress.

I know it isn't your family, but what's the big deal about sharing a bed? When we went on trips with our high school (disney & others) they put 4 of us in a room. We had to share the doubles. It wasn't that terrible.

I know these aren't mods but WL and AKL have a queen/bunk bed formation. That might be worth looking into. It would have to be cheaper than two rooms esp with the geat summer discounts!
