We are going to WDW in May. We have previously stayed at POR-Alligator Bayou, 2x. We all LOVE it there!! The thing is . . . we might like to try another moderate, i THINK!!! I have done my research, but still can't decide!! Any suggestions on making this tough decision!? What bldgs/rooms do you recommend?? Close to a bus stop is good as we don't rent a car. DISNEY TRANSPORTATION ALL THE WAY!! Thanks!! :cloud9:

(There are six of us so we need two connecting rooms, DH, DW DDs-16, 14, 10 and 8)

Without a doubt - Coronado Springs - Bldg 9B. We have stayed there 2 times. Last Nov and Sept 2000. The resort is so close to a deluxe (in my opinion, the only thing missing is the monorail and maybe the ability to walk to a park - although AK & Wilderness don't have either.) In 2000, we asked for and got the first rrom closest to the lobby in bldg 9B. It was amazing - sunset view over the water, 2 minute walk to the food court and marina, 5 minute walk to the pool. It was the dream resort and the dream room. I hear all the talk about the convention atmosphere... Never seen it. Now, if you walk past the food court, you will see conventioneers in the convention hall - is this really an issue? Also, if you venture into the bar after about 9pm, you will see people dressed in business attire. Again, not really an issue. Coronado just has so many neat qualities: feeding the fish from the marina(big fish), great pool with super waterslide, boat rental, amazing food court with more choices than if you were at the mall, remote resort feeling. On our day off from parks, we sat around the resort on the hammocks and it was like being in a remote resort out west. Have I made it pretty clear - I know this was long, but I figured you wanted a full assessment. Good luck.

POR is the only mod we haven't tried yet!!! Out of the other three, CSR is my favorite!

I'd try POFQ since you have already tried POR. FQ rooms have recently been redone. These two mods seem to get the best reviews. I'm afraid you would be disappointed with any other mod since you were so happy at POR.

Another vote for CSR. We were in Ranchos 7B. The bus stop was right outside our building. We were only a short walk from the dig site and main building. CSR is a beautiful resort and the transportation is great. It doesn't share it's buses with any other resort and there are 4 stops within the resort. The buses were always prompt and plentiful.

We just stayed at the CBR for the first time and love it. I understand that it has the biggest rooms of any of the mods. It is a large resort, but we requested and received a building in Jamaica that is right across the small lake from the food court/gift shop/main pool area. The walkway across the lake takes you through a small island with recreation and play areas, and is a very pleasant and very short walk. I thought the food court was amazing - lots of selections for any type of diet, and it handled large numbers of people very efficiently. The gift shop was larger more extensive than I had expected. The bus service when we were there couldn't have been more efficient - we rarely waited more than 5 minutes. An added bonus is that you can see Wishes and Illuminations fireworks from there. We would stay there again in a minute and even found we preferred it over the Poly.

I would go with Coronado. I have stayed in Ranchos and Casitas and both were great.

POFQ!!! No matter where you are it's only a short walk to everything because the resort is so compact. They have a great pool, boat to DTD, great food court. Plus if you find you miss the POR you can hop on a bus/boat or walk right down, because since they're "sister" resorts you have access to all the amenties at both resorts.

POFQ without a doubt. It's the best mod resort out there. And even better news...POFQ is the FIRST stop (before all the riverside stops) for the parks (disney transportation) and the first drop off from the parks. The ambiance is amazing...the pool is the coolest ever. We just love it there!

Have fun!!

Thank you ALL for taking the time to tell me about your favorites!! Now I have some "personal" information to help us decide!! You guys are the best!! Thanks again! :cloud9:

Another vote for PO-FQ. Hands down, our favorite MOD... Of course, we haven't had the opportunity to stay at Coronado... couldn't get discounted rates last time we tried, so we stayed at PO-R instead.

CSR alll the way! i found that the transporation is so great at this resort when it comes to crowds. At night right after fantasmic (we went first week in december) we would watch people sprint out of the park to their bus and the lines would be huge. but not for CSR, and we would stroll over to the bus and rarely ever had to even stand! the only bus that was always crowded was downtown disney. im guessing this is mainly becae of conventioners who don't visit the theme parks, but do go out to DD at night. it was so great. and the themeing and the pool and every part of the hotel was just amazing. we would never go anywhere else. we stayed in cabanas 8a i believe and it was great. definitely go with CSR!! good luck.

This is not a real answer, but how I feel. I have stayed in POR, POFQ, CBR and many other resorts, and each one offers something different and an experience onto itself. I would pick 2, and have them transfer you in between. Try POFQ for a real fun feeling, and finish with CBR. Make sure you do your research on which building at CBR you want. I have tried to stay at different places on my most recent trips. I have not repeated a hotel in my last 4 trips or so, so I can some day find my favorite and go there. This time I tried ASM and POP just to see what the "value" is like. Mix it up. It's WDW, you can't go wrong!!!

We love CSR! Have stayed there the last two trips. We have stayed in the Ranchos which we loved the fun theming, close proximity to CSR's awesome pool area and the Ranchos section is a little more secluded and quiet. This past trip we were given a great room in the Casitas. We had the best view overlooking the lake. The rooms at CSR are nice and spacious and we have always found them to be clean and fresh. The grounds at CSR are beautiful and we always take a few walks around the resort during our visits.
The food court at CSR is by far the best. We have always enjoyed our meals here.
We also enjoyed our previous stay at CBR and would stay there agin on a future trip to WDW but CSR is our favorite b/c we feel it is quiet and romantic. We absolutely love CSR and recommend it to everyone!
Best of luck!

We have stayed at both POFQ and CSR. CSR was fantastic! POFQ was just OK. CSR has a wonderful pool area for all ages. POFQ seemed geared more to families with small kids.

We just got back from POFQ. It was great. I was in building 4. Everything was so close and within a few minutes of walking.
The bus trasportation was great. On pick up POFQ was always first.
The return bus trip was 75% of the time dropped off at POFQ first, but 25% of the time POFQ was last to be dropped off. It all depends.
The food court at POFQ was tasty. Every time we ordered it was made fresh (like hamburgers, meatball subs, etc.). The beignets and the cinnamon rolls were nice, too.
We all decided to stay at POFQ again when we go back.

I also just got back from POFQ and loved it. We've stayed in CSR before and liked this resort better because it is so compact. We also liked the theming better than CSR, but we live in TX and get plenty of the Southwest thing. I really like the moderates, especially when they send out the special rates.
