If I am at RD (hopefully near front) and want to try to get on 7DMT. Will we have time to see the standby line wait time for 7DMT and if too long head to Peter Pan without too long a wait there?

How long can we wait at 7DMT before the wait at Peter Pan will become too long?

I know best way to 7DMT is right of castle. Is this true for Peter Pan as well?

WE are going on Dec 22nd so high crowd day...

if you take the path to the right of the castle, that takes you further away from peter pan. But not by all that much.

I'm not experienced in ropedropping fantasyland so I can't answer your other questions.

If you want an alternate strategy without having to get up too early, we found a 10 minute wait on 7D right after Wishes early this summer. The posted wait was 65. Later that same evening at about 11 pm, the posted wait at Peter Pan was 40 minutes but the actual wait was 1 minute as there were only about 10 people in line. This was on a crowd level 8 day that happened to be an EMH morning.

We found this to be a much more efficient use of our time than trying to rush these popular attractions in the morning.

Obviously if you know the queues well, this is easier. I wish someone had a website with pics that showed approximate wait times based on the point to which people are filling the line. I know Disneyland really well and can eye how long the line is based on how far through the rope system people go, but I am not familiar with WDW enough to know what the queue is like inside any building. The Peter Pan with 10 people would have been nice. :-)

We tried this last Saturday, 10/17, and had the opposite experience. At 11:30 PM, 7DMT had a posted 40 min wait, and the line was almost to the entrance. We went to PP instead, to find a posted 30 minute wait, which ended up being 35.

Saturdays do tend to get busy this time of year. We prefer to go on a night that was an EMH morning, as the park really clears out when guests that got up really early get tired and head home.

I was thinking a good strategy might be to go to the secondary fantasyland rides in the first hour...so, Peter Pan first, then Winnie the Pooh, then Small World...then for the second hour have 7DMT and another top tier ride scheduled on FP+? Has that worked for anyone?

Just a consideration (and I'm unsure of the answer), but if you go on an EMH morning and get in at rope drop, is Peter Pan's flight open prior to regular park opening hours? Just something to think about.

I'm pretty sure it is. There's a list of which rides are open for AM EMH at MK at some website or other. I know PP is one I'm planning to hit at RD on an EMH morning.

We went to ropedrop this summer and rode Space Mountain twice, Tomorrowland Speedway, Pooh, HM, IASW, Ariel then Dumbo in the first 2 hours. We had FP+ for 7DMT, PP and BUZZ starting at 1. We had an ADR at BOG at 11:15 so we were able to eat lunch then do the carousel, Dumbo and Goofini before crowds got too bad. I would FP+ 7DMT if at all possible. You can do so many things in that first hour of the day.

IF we attempt 7DMT before PP- what is the longest we should wait to not back us up too much for the rest of the morning and lines at all our other attractions?

That tends to be my family's strategy and it does tend to work. However, you can can run the risk of missing your FP if you get overly ambitious. It hasn't happened yet, but we almost missed our 7DMT when our Small World boats got backed up for 15 minutes.

There will not be a time that you won't wait for Peter Pan. If it is a must do and you can't get a FP, then just bite the bullet and do it. Everything other than PP and 7DMT will probably have shorter wait times. However, being during Holiday season, there will be no way to avoid being backed up for the rest of the day. You will have to sit down and prioritize the attractions your family wants to see and make sure you do the top 5-10 and don't worry about seeing everything.

I definitely think your best strategy is to go to Peter Pan at Rope Drop and save 7DMT for a FP+ time later.

There will be such a crowd gathering for the 7DMT at Rope Drop that it will be hard not to have a substantial wait for it. And it doesn't take long for the Peter Pan line to become a substantial wait (20 mintues or more) within the first 15 minutes or so the park is open. So no point in doing some wait for 7DMT with the thought of abandoning it for Peter Pan if wait is taking too long.

But if you go to Peter Pan right at Rope Drop, you won't have much wait for it at all. 90% of the Rope Drop crowd headed for Fantasyland will be peeling of to the right to go to either 7DMT or to meet Anna/Elsa, and you will be among the 10% smart enough to be peeling off to the left for Peter Pan.
