Which Maui Hotel with a 15 year old??

Okay all you Hawaii experts, I need your help. This will be our second trip to Maui, with the last one being 4 years ago. I need advice on a hotel with lots of things to do for a teenager. I have been looking at places like the Grand Wailea and Hyatt Regency. Any one with Ideas ?

i stayed at the hyatt regency...but i didn't have any children! i wish i could tell you more about any kid's programs, but alas, i can't.

i can tell you that the hyatt was GORGEOUS!!!!!!!! i was in absolute awe for the week i was there.

I think that the area the Hyatt is in is better for a teenager. The Grand is in the Wailea section and is more secluded. You would have to drive everywhere. The Hyatt is in the Lahaina area and there are more things withing walking distance. Restaurants, shops, snorkeling, etc.

The Fairmont Kea Lani. My daughter loved it.

We have stayed at the Four Seasons in Wailea twice in the last two years. It is next to the Grand Wailea and a short walk from the Fairmont. The Grand has an extensive pool area and there always seemed to be something going on there, I would highly recommend it.

The Grand seemed like Disneyland to me. Waaayyyy too croweded. I could see younger kids liking it. Perhaps teens, too. LOVED The Four Seasons but I don't think it appeals to teens execpt for the occasional celeb siting.

The Fairmont is the best of both, I think. The nice thing about the Fairmont is that all the rooms are suites. Unless you want to really splurge and go with the Villas. But, as others have said, it is out of the way from any nightlife.

I also think the Grand Wailea, the pool and activities seemed to be geared for kids/teenagers
