Hi all. We're going to the Poly in Nov w/ our 3 kids and another family(they also have 3 kids). This will be our first family trip to WDW and I'm beyond excited!!!! Anyway, I was wondering which longhouse to request-I know it is just that-a request but figure it's worth a shot. We will be 2 families with young kids. I know we want a no smoking building and we would really like a patio or balcony to hang out on. I'm thinking maybe we'd be better off near the monorail or GCH? Hmm, so many things to consider, would appreciate any input. Thanks:earsgirl: :earsboy:

The rooms in Tokelau are larger than the older longhouses and it is very centrally located - right by the quiet pool. It would give you all lots of room. Also, all floors have a patio or balcony.

I would request a room with a balcony at Tokelau. Have stayed there many times with kids and it is not as requested as much as say, Somoa, which is a smaller building..so I think your chances of getting it would be good. Non-smoking building.

Have fun planning! You'll get loads of opinions!!

Thanks. Tokelau sounds like a great option. I really appreciate your reply!!

We also always request (and get) Tokelau. In addition to all the above benefits, it is pretty centrally located. It's just a little closer to GCH than to TTC. On end is right across from the laundry/Neverland Club/Arcade and the bus stop, the other is right by the lagoon. Pretty gardens to view on one side, quiet pool on the other.

We were in Raratonga, which is right next to the Great Ceremonial House, and overlooking the quiet pool on one side and Gardens/parking lot on the other. If you have kids, the arcade is to the other side, as well as the Neverland Club. We asked for a Garden view room and had a 3rd floor room with balcony overlooking the quiet pool, which was beautiful. Everything was in short walking distance.

We just returned from the Poly 9/30-10/6, and had asked for and received the Samoa Building. We loved it and thought the location was great, right next to the Volcano Pool, and so close to the snack shop where we were always refilling our mugs. Request ground floor or third floor, 2nd floor doesn't have balcony.

We also stayed with 3 kids, and room size was fine, My 11 year old slept on the futon fine, I think it's the size of a single bed. Bathroom was roomy with more counter space than I had imagined. Tokelau was also close and would have been my 2nd choice, but Samoa was the greatest!

We asked for and received Tokelau 3rd floor GV. It was great, centrally located between GCH and TTC. We also were on the end near the beach so we had a view of the lagoon and could see GF and CR. There was a palm tree in the way of the castle, but you can go one door down and there is a lookout area at the end of building.

This is a great building. Try to request room 1913. It is considered a "garden" room, but is far from it. It's on the first floor and you overlook the lagoon & the Grand Floridian. Beautiful view in the morning! It's also right near the quiet pool and a quick walk to the main pool & building. It's a bit of a longer walk to the TTC, but a lovely walk anyways. The room has 2 beds and a day bed and is non-smoking. It's also a quick walk to the beaches at the Polynesian, which are a great location to view Wishes. Oh, and don't forget to get your free refill mug and view the Electrical Water Parade.
