What is a better location for a one bedroom with a standard view - Jambo House or Kidani Village?

Which is better for an elderly gentleman that can't walk far without an ECV (we'll be picking one up the next morning)?

If you need counter service food, then pick Jambo House as there is no counter service at Kidani.

Are you actually going to pick up the ECV? There are many services in Orlando that will deliver the ECV right to the resort (and pick it up when you're done). I can't remember which one we used last time (for a stay at Kidani), but I can look it up if you're interested. They will drop it off so it's at your hotel on the day you check in (or the next morning if that's what you want). Enough places do it that Bell Services knows how to handle it and will hold it for you when they drop it off.

We'll be checking into Old Key West the next day and wouldn't know how to get the ECV from AKL to OKW without going to a park first.

Thank you for your prompt answer!

Jambo is busy but offers more amenities. Kidani is quieter and more laid back. Since you will have a ECV, I recommend Kidani. You can ride the ECV to Jambo if you desire and if you have a car, Kidani offers parking under the resort, closer to your room.

We have only stayed at Jambo (numerous times) but have visited Kidani several times. My feeling is I prefer Jambo because of Mara and I also like the lobby at Jambo better. Believe it or not, I do spend a fair amount of time in the lobby. I go each morning to drink my coffee and get caught up on the news while letting DW sleep later, so the lobby is fairly important to me. The Kidani lobby just seems so small compared to the Jambo lobby.

AKLV Jambo & Kidani are both very different, so it depends on what you're looking for.

Buses drop you off/pick you up infront of BOTH Jambo House & Kidani Village, so it depends on how far you'd have to walk to get to your room - Kidani is a longer walk though if your room is far from the Lobby.

Jambo House is the main resort, it has most of the dining options apart from Sanaa which is in Kidani Village, it also has a Quick Service dining option. Both Jambo & Kidani have pools but Kidani's pool is across the road so probably a longer walk.

People have said Kidani is alot more laid-back & relaxing, not as busy but Jambo may have better atmosphere.

Kidani Village's car parking is closer to the hotel than the car parking for Jambo House.

I think Kidani Village has two bathrooms rather than just one in a 1br villa also.

So if i was you, i'd do some research. :)

If you have a car then you will be able to park close to an elevator to your room at Kidani. If you don't have a car then in general the Jambo house Standard views are more likely to be close to transportation and the lobby although at Kidani you can also request to be close to lobby/transportation due to medical needs and they should do their best to accommodate.

In short - I'd say Kidani if you have a car and Jambo if you don't.
