My daughter lives in a small apartment with little counter space. She wants a Keurig for Christmas. SAMs has a K460 with 43 k cups for $129. Is this a good deal? Is there another one that may be better for her? I didn't realize there were so many kinds. I am clueless!

I have a small kitchen in my condo with very little counter space. I have the Mini. You do have to fill it every time you make a cup but I am the only coffee drinker so not a big deal. There will be tons of sales on Keurigs Black Friday and after

I also have the mini. But I just use it for one cup here and there. I have a regular coffee pot that I make a full pot of coffee in each day. I used to have one similar to the K460 and it was just a pain. I didn't use it enough so the reservoir would just dry out.

I usually don't find Kohls to be cheap but the Keurig is an exception. I was able to get mine on sale with the 30% off code combined with Kohls cash (they usually do $15 on BF weekend vs the standard $10).

My grandmother had a mini Keurig and liked it. She was the only one in the house and only wanted a cup of coffee occasionally, so it worked well for her.

My uncle bought a mini one as well, but he drinks coffee all day, so it didn't work out for him. He'd rather have a pot of coffee than a single serve one. He used his mostly for hot chocolate, tea or hot water for oatmeal.

I have the one you are talking about and like it. I don't think it takes up a lot of room, but I have plenty of counter space in my kitchen. Had I been in my first apartment, maybe not so much and would have preferred something smaller.

I found a small compact one cup brewer at Tuesday Mornings for $50
Chefman My Barista Coffee. They sell them at walmart and other places for more.

I have the mini. Got mine from QVC a long time ago. I'm the only coffee drinker in the house. Last Christmas I got one for my sister from Kohls. Using a coupon and then an additional $10 off. I've seen on QVC lately many of them, always seeing the mini. Last time for $79 and it comes with extras and free shipping.

I bought my daughter a mini for her dorm room and she hated always having to put water in and the fact that you can't fit a travel mug under the spout.

I bought the platinum Keurig. I am the only one that uses it and I still fill the reservoir every week with one coffee/tea a day.

One thing to think about is will she only use K-cups. I believe that the mini can't use any of the refillable cups that you use ground coffee in. I like that feature as the K-cups are so expensive. I can buy regular ground coffee and add it to my own re-usable k-cup pod (can't recall the brand but it was $10 for 3).

I got one of the Keurig Mini ones (K-10 I think it is) for my bedroom, in purple. Yea, I love that it is purple. They have a variety of colors online. I got it from Kohls. I used a 30% off + free shipping code. They were normally like $99. So it knocked down into the $70's. Which I guess that is a lot for a coffee maker, but hey sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. It is like my favorite thing, that way I don't have to leave my room in the morning. I set it up the night before, then start it when I go brush my teeth. By the time I am done, there is a nice cup of coffee sitting there waiting for me.

We also have one of those regular Keurig brewers in the kitchen. I am not sure what model it is... it is that one that everybody else seems to have. It is probably 3 years old, never had any problems with it. It pretty much only gets used when we have company or on the weekends.

In regards to the mini, the only holding 1 cup worth of water isn't a problem. I found that you can buy little 10 oz bottles of water at like Walmart and Dollar General. They are absolutely perfect for the mini Keurig brewer. Coffee making could not be easier, 1 bottle of water and 1 K-Cup. :lovestruc

I only use bottled water, never had any problems.

In regards to the reusable cups. I found one at Walmart for under $5. It worked in my mini. The coffee tasted terrible, (probably because it had already been opened like a year or so ago) it was also a pain to clean up afterwards dumping the grounds and all. But anyway, it did actually work. You just drop it in like a K-Cup brew it, take it out and dump it.

I found a reusable Kcup filter that uses paper filters which made the clean up easier.

I also purchased San Francisco bay coffee Kcups that are 97% biodegradable so no more wasted plastic. Plus they are cheaper then many other Kcups and the coffee tastes great.

I have a mini at work - love that I can brew one cup and be done. No water sitting and getting "stale" no clean up. I also have a Keurig B60 I've had for 3 years at home. I love both. I only use Kcups as the refill cups are great for using prebagged coffee; however I like the convenience of brew and toss.

I am hoping Santa will bring me the new Keurig with the carafe for Christmas... so I can make more when company is around. Being that my B60 is my only coffee pot, brewing for company creates a challenge.

We have the mini as only DH drinks coffee. We have had it for about 3 years with no issues. We are looking to get a different one though. Having to put the water in each time is a pain and DH hates that larger mugs and travel mugs don't fit under it.

We were looking at the one with the carafe but it will only use certain Kcups so that is deal breaker for us. We might try to find one of the older models if we can.
