Which is your favorite resort and why?

Grand Floridian. Why? Theming, location, on monorail, pool area, great places to eat (Narcoossee's, Citricos, Gaspirallas 1900 Park fare). AND soon you will be able to walk to Magic Kingdom. Also a nice spa.

Contemporary. Why? Staff and folks working there from the front desk to folks on the concierge floors are GREAT. Wonderful customer service ever time we have stayed here. Location - you can walk to the MK. On monorail and great place to eat like the Wave, California Grill, and Chef Mickey's.

We love the Yacht & Beach Club because we can easily get into Epcot and Hollywood Studios. We also like being able to walk around the lake for a nice stroll or early morning exercise before all of the people are out.

Hmmm . . . This is a bit like asking a parent which child is the favorite. It totally depends on the trip, and what I plan to do while there, and what the budget is. It’s easier to tell you my least favorites. I am not fond of GF, because I hate that the self parking is across the street, and AKL/V because I like to have a water feature at my hotel, especially at a deluxe, but I have stayed at both and had a fine vacation. I love the Epcot resorts area, and will book the best price over picking a specific resort. I love WL, because it feels like I am no longer in Florida when I stay there. I love POFQ for the theming and compact size and the boat to DS. I love the Skyliner, especially in the cooler seasons, and the convenience makes the resorts it is connected to rise in my opinion. I love CR and Poly for their large rooms and unparalleled views of MK. I usually start with my budget, then figure out which parks I will spend the most time in and which hotel has the easiest access to those parks.

The Poly is my favorite by far, but as an alternative I really like Wilderness Lodge for the ambience and theming, or Beach/Yacht for the Epcot/HS location and the amazing pool. If you're looking to save on budget (and don't rent DVC points), I would recommend the new tower at Coronado, or CBR. I know you have stayed there in the past, but the skyliner is a game-changer, and if you get a Preferred room in Martinique the short walk to the Riviera's restaurants is also a major plus!

My opinions are of the DVC rooms...

Poly is hands down my all time favorite. I went there a few times as a child, and that's why it holds a special place in my heart. I've hated to see all the changes they've made there (waterfall, etc.), but it still has the same vibe/atmosphere as it did in 1979.

A few years ago we stayed in a 2BR at Grand Floridian. It was awesome! The room is gorgeous, and we loved how we could walk to Poly. Nice restaurants there too.

I love Poly, but I would not be booking it right now. The timetable and amenities are just too uncertain right now.

The Polynesian- this has been a longtime favorite of mine, and where I would always stay with my family growing up. It is very nostalgic to me, and I am one of those who misses the waterfall in the lobby, and I'm not too thrilled about the Moana refurbishment-even though I LOVE the movie. The restaurants are wonderful, and the rooms are big! Love Love LOVE the Polynesian. So does my son!

The Yacht club/Beach club- from the minute I walk into the lobby it takes me to my happy place. The smell is amazing. It has the BEST pool on property and I could stay here and never step foot in the parks...even though Epcot is my favorite resort and just a few steps away.

The AKL- I love the dining at AKL and I love animals, so waking up with them outside my balcony is amazing. I wouldn't stay here without a Savannah view room...even though the resort is beautiful.

Wilderness Lodge is my fav Deluxe because I love the themeing/architecture and I like the balcony views over the water.

Port Orleans French Quarter is my favorite Mod because it's small, there is no bad location and beigenets. LOL

For Value I have always said Music as I find it the least garrish and has a better landscape (more greenery less giant icons) but I really do love the new room reno's at POP. I love that clean minimalist style room, I just dislike the actual resort and I find the bus service there atrocious. So it's a toss up. LOL

Out of the three I would probably say POFQ but of all my stays I've done the Allstars more than any other, because I am most often a solo traveler and when I'm on my own I don't care about much more than clean quiet room where I can sleep and shower, so I go frugal and hit up which ever value gives me the best price for a room that meets my needs. Though I have stopped just doing random rooms and tend to go for preferred.

I've only been to Coronado (twice), Grand Flo (twice), and Kidani (once). I like them all, but Grand Flo is my favorite of them. I liked Kidani a lot too, but would prefer Jambo next time. When COVID goes away, I'd love a solo trip to Jambo. I'd maybe do some park days at Animal Kingdom, but otherwise just a resort stay. Eat, lounge, swim, look at animals, a few rides/shows, shop, eat more, look at more animals....rinse and repeat.

Trying Boardwalk for the first time this Christmas, and looking forward to it. I'd like to try Wilderness Lodge at Christmastime at some point too. And I've always wanted to try Port Orleans French Quarter. It looks so quaint!

We really enjoy Port Orleans Riverside. The food is great, the atmosphere is fun, there’s lots of activities (non-COVID days), a great pool, and very nice rooms.

Deluxe: AKL, so unique and we love the food there!
Mod: POFQ, small and quaint! Love the boat service to DS as well
Value: Hmm, toss up between Pop and ASMo... Both are so fun for everyone on a budget. I had better bus service from ASMo than Pop but that was also pre Skyliner and Covid days. It really depends on budget and if the Skyliner is important to you.

Port Orleans Riverside. My wife and I stayed there on our honeymoon in 1995 when it was Dixie Landings. We love the layout, the pool, the feel and the boat to Disney Springs.

We are currently booked at Poly in a villa (due to the normal resort rooms being closed during our June 2021 stay). I posted to that board how our "Bucket List" vacay is slowly dashing my hopes. So DH suggested we DON"T make this our bucket list vacay and that we go less days (booked Sat to Sat at the moment) and we don't stay at the Poly. We have done Pop Music in the past (didn't like the really long bus trips) and CBR which we enjoyed but want to maybe stay some place different. The goal will be to cancel the 8 day tickets and hopper passes, along with the Poly booking (or switch to another resort so I don't lose my travel insurance) and maybe go Sun - Friday to save some money since next year might "still be different" but we still get one day in each park. Any info on what is your favorite resort is and why would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!
Love any resort on the Boardwalk! Stayed at Dolphin, Boardwalk, and Beach club. Another great location is SSR. I like it for convenience to DS every night for eating and shopping. Poly of course is great for fireworks and water parades, however who knows when those will return. POR was great escape place. Beautiful boat ride to DS and beautiful grounds, just a little less Disney. Have a great trip!

We stayed there on our honeymoon in 1997! So cool!

Pop Century! We are in the parks morning til night, maybe taking a break mid day and then park hopping. We are not in the room enough to care about resort amenities. And Pop, post-refurbishment, is nicer than moderates if you ask me. Skyliner is absolutely a game changer. We were there last October and it wasn’t closed at all. Maybe others have had different experiences at different times of the year (weather-related). Pop food court is huge - lots of choices. We are a ride family, not a sit down and eat for an hour and a half family, so Pop is a great choice for us. We stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter once and it was boring. We’d much rather walk up the stairs inside a giant rubik’s cube. 😂 I debated between Pop and CBR for a February trip without kids, but decided to save the money and instead go do Universal for one day with express passes. We also like to cruise once a year and go to the Florida panhandle for fall break, so I don’t spend Grand Floridian type money on any one vacation. Maybe I’d feel differently if we only did one vacation a year? But probably not. 😊

This is a tough one!:scratchin If I had to pick just one resort right this second I would choose Gran Destino Tower. That right now is my #1 based on our last trip. That could change as I take trips and stay at other places I've not stayed in before. It's always a struggle when people have asked me what I recommend because everyone has different tastes.

Also, since I've stayed in DVC, Deluxe, and Moderate so I'd like to break it down. I've not really stayed anywhere I've totally disliked although GF accommodation wasn't worth the price IMO although I did enjoy some aspects of the resort.

DVC: Tough one but I'd have to say Boardwalk (OKW runner up - the best 1 BR in WDW IMO) BLT almost made the list because I loved the room and resort but it was just so chaotic.
Deluxe: WL - had some :tink:happen to us when staying here. (CRT runnerup - stayed here with my Mom and loved ones way back in the days of just MK so it will always have a special place in my heart. Both WL and CRT are easily flippable)
Moderate: Gran Destino Tower - my new 🧡 (CBR post-Skyliner & renovated lobby/bar/restaurant and I really enjoyed the area in the evening & POFQ - loved the size, theming and the fact that it's easily walkable - runners up)
Value: N/A
