AK is the hottest. I read a thread not too long ago that said that because of the lush natural vegetation at AK that the humidity and therefore the Heat Index is higher there. I can confirm that when I was there one August I was fine in other parks but miserable in AK.
The lack of wide open spaces, plus the lush vegetation makes for a steamy experience at AK. No air gets circulated there..although they do seem to be trying to stir things up a bit with some disguised fans along the walkways.
I voted for Animal Kingdom as it is so tropical and humid to boot ... but on the flipside I would also vote it the coldest place in Disney for the exact same reason..
so in summer .. yes hottest .. but on a cold day in winter it is the coldest park Brrrrrrrrr I had to buy gloves one year
I am so glad to see that I'm not the only one who thinks AK feels hotter than everywhere else!
DisneyWorldWisher: The buildings are air conditioned, but a lot of stuff is outside, so you don't seem to be inside as much! I couldn't imagine the buildings not being Air conditioned! That would be way too hot!
I found buildings with AC. I know for a fact the one with the Chocolate bar's has AC. It wouldn't do to have melty chocolate for customers. When I was there in Sept 05 I tried to drink a lot and duck into the buildings with AC when possible to cool off.
I usually go in the early morning and leave before noon. Sometimes I stay for shows only but leave as soon as possible. Hot pavement and lots of vegetation and water around make for a HOT day and a red face for me.
