I am trying to plan a few character meals and I am so confused as to which ones are truly the best. My daughter is 7(almost 8 at the time of disney) and my son will just be 4! She is not into princesses that much anymore(thanks to High School Musical, Hannah Montana, Bratz) but I do believe that she would still like it when we were there. If I gave a choice, she would probably forego it but I think she will like it still. I also want to do the

I have so far to narrow it down from

Crystal Palace(definte)
Chef Mickey's (definte)

Unsure of the best of these one's
1900 Park Fare
Cinderella's Royal Table
Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall
Beach Club Breakfast Buffet at Cape May Cafe
Ohana’s Best Friends Breakfast featuring Lilo & Stitch

Thanks for any input!

Hi

We returned 2 weeks ago and we did 4 character meals - Chef Mickey's Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fayre and Cape May.

We have tried them all though over time (some several times).

Don't know if you are on the DDP but we were this time and we started off with the Cape May breakfast which was a really good way to start a vacation - very relaxed - superb service and interactive characters

1900 Park Fayre was really really good though - the food was excellent - the character interaction especially the Ugly Sisters and Stepmother really played the part and once again we had a great server. Cinderella and Prince Charming were also there and it's a great deal for 1 TS each.

Chef Mickeys was pretty good - we had been before a few times and the food was good but not great, characters were fun and the service was OK but not particularly memorable - we had skipped this for a few years as the last time we went we had the worst server ever.

Crystal Palace was another one where we had been disappointed in before but we decided to give it another shot - it was for dinner - we had a very disinterested server who was almost rude - the food was just OK. The characters were pretty good but do take a long time to get round the room and once again we had finished our meal and waiting for the last characters to reach our table.

Hope this helps a little

We really Love--"O'hanas Best Friend Breakfast".
We ate there on Saturday. The food is always consistant.
Atmosphere nice.
It is our Favorite Character Breakfast. I love Lilo and Stitch,
Mickey, Pluto. We've eaten here 3 years in a row and will be
eating here next trip.

On this trip we also tried "Donalds Breakfast Safari"--Tusker House
in Animal Kingdom--the food was also very good with Donald, Daisy
and Goofy. We will be eating here again next year. Love the
decor and variaty in food choices.

Out of the unsure ones you listed, I have been to three of them. 1900 Park Fare, Ohana, and CRT

Out of those my fav is Ohana. I don't like buffets much especially if you are waiting for the characters to come around. Ohana (and CRT) bring the food to your table. CRT seemed a little rushed with everything, and I didn't get that feeling with Ohana. The food is also good, and I love the juice that they serve.

Our family's fave character meal is Ohana!

We love....

That it's served family style and isn't another buffet.
The pineapple bread & awesome juice.
Going to the Poly, then hopping on the Monorail.
Seeing Stitch, Lilo, Mickey & Pluto.
The Conga lines around the restaurant once an hour.
The overall atmosphere!

Our family has done this meal on every trip! :wizard:

I am thinking Breakfast is probably the best meals of the day as the kids are totally wiped out from the heat and walking.

I wish they had one more geared for boys or older kids(hsm, hm,)

Love Chef Mickey's.

We have done Ohana and loved it. The food was good and so was the atmosphere and character interaction.

We have also done CRT and princess storybook at Epcot. It was very cool to say that we ate in the castle, but the princess interaction was much better at Storybook. We saw Jasmine, Belle, Aurora, Cinderella, and Ariel there. Even my DS5 loved it! DD10 isn't into princesses anymore, but really enjoyed this one. The food was ok, but the desserts were fantastic there!

I guess if I had to put them in order it would be Ohana, then Storybook, then CRT unless you are just really wanting to eat in the castle.

We did a few charcter meals on our trip last week and Crystal Palace was the best. The food was very good and so was the character interaction, plus we had an excellent server. Cape May the food was good, but my dd(3) was disappointed because there was no Mickey, just Minnie. If you are going to do a princess type meal I would do Akershus instead of 1900 PF, we did both and were not impressed with 1900 PF. The characters seem rushed and the food was just okay. We really enjoyed the food at Akershus (leave room for dessert!) and the princesses there were very charming and sweet, especially since my dd can be shy. It seemed like they took the time to get her to come out of her shell. The service was also excellent. We also liked the breakfast at Tusker House, the food was good and great character interaction.

CHEF MICKEYS hands down! We have been to several and this is the best! It was in 2003 that we were there, but I would hope not much has changed, but it was at the end of a very tiring day. We almost canceled our reservations we were so exhausted. Our kids are never happy when they are as over tired as they were that day, and the minute we sat down something truly magical happened I kid you not! The food was very good, it was about 7:30 so late enough that it could have been cold but was fresh and very well stocked. The characters made the rounds quickly but gave good attention to everyone.

We are trying Crystal Palace this trip...5 days....will post more after we try that.

Good luck :thumbsup2

My girls were 11 and 14 at our last trip, and they still love the princesses when they are there!!

We really like the Cinderella dinner at 1900 Park fare.

I was wondering too, we are going for the castle. We have done a few including Crystal Palace- great place, 1900 park fare- The best so far and one in Epcot with the Princesses. Next year we are doing the Bibbity Boppity dress up thing and then Lunch at the Castle... hope it's good!
Oh we are also doing California grill so that we can see the fireworks too!
