Hi fellow dis'ers! My family and I (2 adults, 3 kids- 9,6,&3) are planning our first DLR trip and will be in the parks Sun, Sept. 20-Wed., Sept. 23rd. We are not staying on-site, so no EMH. But, we do have 1 MM for DL.

The schedule for our trip is not out yet, but that doesn't mean I'm not trying to plan every detail already, lol!! Using historical data, I see that for our dates, Sun, Mon, and Wed will be EMH for CA. That only leaves Tues. for a CA rope drop. Tues. is also our only MM option. Which should we do? If we do DL rope drop on the other days, will the CA rope drop be more valuable to us than using our MM that morning? I'm hoping to be able to take advantage of TSMM and RSR before the crowds take over, but don't want to waste an MM day. What would you do?

Thanks!

I would choose CA and be in line well before the park opens. Get in the line up for RSR using HydroGuy's tips, and you can be on and off RSR within the first 15 minutes of park opening. Then move on to TSMM which doesn't draw the crowds.

You'll be able to get a lot done with three rope drops for DL.

I would do DCA on Monday and then decide if you want to do RSR and TSMM again Tuesday or use your DL MM.

During that week in September, the parks are likely to open later during the week, so Sunday the parks may open at 8 or 9am, but Monday-Wednesday you are likely to see 10am openings. A MM at 9am on a Tuesday will likely be very busy/crowded, so you'd probably be better off doing rope drop at DCA that day.

Link to the post with his tips? Did a quick search and could not find it. Found other posts with info but no single detailed post. We've never done CA rope drop before, might go for it one day this next trip :)

I completely agree with this. As annual pass holders, we rope drop the opposite park as MM/EMH and it works well. And the later the EMH/MM, the more crowded it will be. The last time I did a EMH/MM at DL that started at 9 a.m., it was worse than 10 a.m. rope drop on a non EMH/MM day.

I think you should use your mm. An extra hour in the parks is awesome, and you can get a lot done. Just get a fp for rsr if you want to ride it, and be at the front of ropedrop at DCA and race to tsmm first. If you are at the beginning of the pack it should only be a 15 minute wait behind the emh crowd.
just another thing to think about; sometimes rsr isn't running right away or breaks down in the morning. I would hate for you to give up your mm only to find that rsr isn't even working.

This has been my experience too - on a MM/EMH Tuesday in October with 10am general opening, the line for PP was 50 minutes by 9:30...
