Which is more preferred? Which is more equitable?

I'm soon going to be looking to offer some points for rent. The question I am asking myself is this, which is more desirable from a renter's perspective, points or a confirmed reservation?
I know points have greater flexibility, but a confirmed reservation is just that, confirmed. I'll be doing some research into renting, to get an understanding of the pro's/con's and the best way in which to do it for a smooth transaction.

I also see the site has three options for bypassing the restrictions of having a 50 non-rent posts spread over 6 months. Platinum has this feature but I I don't fully understand the benefit.
Allows the same features as the gold plan except that one of the allowed existing reservations may be offered without regard for the arrival date up to 11 months before check-in.

Does it mean I can offer a reservation that is for a date greater than 30 days, right up to the 11 months?

Thanks for any input, I'm off to research!

We have rented points several times before joining. I would always look at booked stays first, only to find ones that we could grab at a discount, then I would request to book based on my preferred resort, room type and dates. If we couldn’t book that way then I would go to pre booked reservations as a last resort. TL;DR a bigger benefit for you is the points vs confirmed reservation. Also keep in mind depending on your home resort someone may just buy the points from you outright. That just happened to us, we were going to rent out Copper Creek points and less than 24 hours later another owner came and we sold them all to them. This was quick and we got full price for our points. The only catch is we had to call MS with the renter on the line to do the transfer, but that took 5 minutes and we were done.

That did come up in my research and from what I've read, which you confirmed, leads me to prefer that approach BUT it also seems like the least likely method by which they would sell. It requires a DVC member whereas the points-for-reservation doesn't. The downside there is, it requires a lot more trust.

Before I had DVC, I would look for confirmed reservations. It was just so much easier from our perspective. I may end up changing our dates slightly to match the confirmed reservation, but I just preferred doing it that way.

Off the subject, but today I find myself with a Boardwalk Deluxe Studio rented, but my wife has now let my daughter invite a friend...so we're stalking like crazy to find a 1 bedroom pop available. Uggh, probably wont happen.

end of January.

Yeah, not cool. Very not cool.

I used to rent. As a renter, I always just looked for points. I didn't bother with confirmed reservations. I have little flexibility with my job, so I would need a specific week and didn't bother with looking for confirmed reservations.
