Which is better?

In your opinion, which character breakfast is better? Chef Mickey's or Tusker House with Donald?

I'm having trouble deciding which one the grandkids would like better.

I thought the food, and the service too for that matter, were both much better at Tusker House. At least for breakfast.

We enjoy them both but my kids live the create your own desert bar at CM.
CM is great at night because you can watch the electric parade and the fireworks from the Contemp.

Having been to both many times, I honestly believe that "better" depends on the rest of your plans for the day. If you can get yourselves to an 8 a.m. ADR at Tusker House on a day when AK does NOT have morning EMH, then this one is the better choice because you can leave the restaurant at or just before 9 and walk right on to the safari ride before the hoards of people descend in the park. The parks are utterly beautiful early in the morning, when they are relatively deserted.

If you are staying at CR, or if you want to have a leisurely start to your day, OR if you want to get a really early seating so you can get right over to MK for the day, then go for Chef Mickeys.

The differences in the meals and characters aren't significant enough that one would be a better choice than another from a kid's perspective, IMHO.

The characters and food are similar but my kids always loved being in the CR and seeing the monorails zipping by and just being on the inside of the big hotel. If you can go and ride the monorail, visit the cr another time, then go with whatever fits better in the day's plans. I think the boys liked going to "Mickey's rest." and we always made sure to visit there for one meal.

Tusker House hands down. Chef Mickey's has a neat Atmosphere and close to the Gift Shop and Monorail but the Food is better at Tusker House.
