Got a chance to stay a one or the other resort with a family of 8 and not sure where to stay. Help????

Cypress hands down. Star island is in a seedy area. Cypress is a great location. Big rooms. Shares pools with grande villas. Close to disney springs, out back entrance too seaworld parks. Tons of restaurants close too.

I've stayed at both MANY times. Both are beautiful. You cannot go wrong with either. I agree that Cypress Point is in a better location in regards to Disney Springs but with that being said you can get there from Star Island in 10-15 minutes and that's if you hit all the red lights. Now that our boys are grown we actually prefer Star Island.

We have only been to Cypress but we loved it. We loved the location (seriously, my children's favorite part of the week was going to Steak N Shake at all hours) and the resort itself (even though we spent very little time there). No complaints at all.

I had heard prior to our trip that sometimes parking can be a problem at Cypress but we were there the week of 4th of July and we had no trouble what so ever. In fact, we got the same spot every single time no matter when we returned (which was after park closing, sometimes meaning after 1am, the entire week).
