Ok, we are taking the boys to WDW next Sept. My baby will turn 16, 2 weeks after we get back. I really want to book him a Princess dinner for his birthday. He will love it and hate me all at the same time. LOL

Which is better - Akershus or Cinderella's Castle?? When - breakfast, lunch or dinner?

I am after high princess exposure and good food.

I'm planning this for the last day of our trip and hoping to get him a birthday button.

We have done both.
I like Cinderellas castle for breakfast, but that package is very expensive. But the experience of eating in the castle is great.
We ate at Akershus for thanksgiving last year and I also liked that.
The princess's vary usually but Akershus was the only place I knew that has Ariel.
If I had to pick one, it would be the castle, as that is one of my favorite places to be at WDW. If you go for breakfast you get in the park early and get to see the castle and main street with no crowds. Which is also a plus for me.

Personally I think Akershus is better to see more Princesses and also taking into account older boys tastes. Cinderella is geared more towards the younger kids in our experience where at Akershus it wasn't as dressy uppy. Akershus also has more of the "attractive" Princesses in our experience like Jasmine and Ariel vs Mary Poppins and Fairy God Mother at CRT. The Castle experience is very neat but for us we prefer the not rushed, better food, and more princesses at Akershus.

Honestly, if you can get ADR's to 1900 Park Fare I think your son will have more fun. Cinderella and Prince Charming are there, but the two stepsisters and Lady Tremaine are the main show. They are hysterical, when we were there last week they were after all of the "eligible" men. I would love to see them "fight" over your son and to hear all of their comments to and about Cinderella while they are trying to win him over.

are the Stepsisters new to 1900? they weren't there when we went in March, just the Fairy Godmother, Cindy, the Prince and the two mice.

Also, to OP, the dinner at the castle does not have Princesses during the meal. They are at the b'fast and lunch, but I believe you only get the Fairy Godmother and mice for a brief show at dinner.

My favorite princess meal is PSB Breakfast. They have the most princesses by far.

CRT is just too expensive and actually has less princesses than PSB. They also do not have princesses, other than Cinderella, at dinner. The princesses are only there for breakfast and lunch. The best thing about this place is the Castle/atmosphere.

1900 Park Fare DINNER is also a good option but you will only see Cinderella characters and no other princesses but I'd love to see the step sisters!!

Good luck deciding.

It is definitely Akershus. They have Ariel, Jasmine, Mulan and Pocahontas (never had all 4 there, but had some combo of that each time.)

Per my husband and brother in law, they were all "hot."

Sigh.

They are there now at dinner and they are a hoot!

We have some great pics of my nephew with kisses all over his face from PSB!! All of those princesses!!! lol. But, then again, he was 4. lol. Akershus has my vote.

We went to Akershus and were a bit disappointed because the princesses seemed rushed (compared to Toontown). However we got Belle, Ariel, Aurora, Jasmine and Alice and the food was good.

I enjoyed the Norway Princess experience and was trying to get reservations at 1900 for my birthday but no go - they said 180 ahead of time for reservations so get them early.:confused3

I agree with you, our Jasmine was gorgeous and so friendly! Even the men finally enjoyed a character dinner!:rotfl:

Went last year and your hubby and BIL are 100% correct! ;)

I have done Norway Breakfast, CRT Breakfast, and CRT Lunch (3 times). I definitely prefer CRT lunch. The food is good, and I love the atmosphere. Of course, a fun princess meal for guys might be the new GF dinner. It only has Cinderella, but the Stepfamily is there and they are so much fun!
