Which is better: POR Carriage Ride or WL Sleigh Ride?

We have a choice between the WL Sleigh Ride or the POR Carriage ride during our trip and I am having trouble deciding. Has anyone done both? If so, which did you prefer?

Here are the scenarios we are dealing with...

1st choice--Arrival Day (11/30)
--Check in WL
--Lunch ADR at WCC at 1:00
--Room might not be ready until after 3:00 and ride isn't until 5:00
--Pro: Christmas theme; nice intro to the vacation; can rest once the room is ready after the trip and before the Sleigh ride; still have time after to get to MK for Spectro & Wishes
--Con: Long gap of time to fill in the afternoon that could be at the park

2nd choice--Last Night (12/5)
--Spend day in AK
--Take bus to POR
--Carriage Ride at 6:00
--Take boat to DTD for last night shopping
--Pro: Good way to make the best of no direct transportation between AK and DTD; fun last night activity; chance to see a new resort
--Con: need to plan timing for leaving AK; no sleigh bells; might not get to do the Christmas sleigh ride again but POR is year round

Which would you do and why? Right now I am leaning towards the POR one but want to be sure before I cancel the WL ride since it is so hard to get and is only seasonal. Please help
