Which resort is more romantic in your opinion? Looking at $$ for upcoming Oct trip with just me and DH, and yikes! Would love to stay at GF, BUT, after looking at different costs, and taking into consideration that we are going again in April 03 with kids, I might be looking into saving the $$ and going to a moderate this time. I'll have to convince DH, but I'm open to staying at any WDW resort . . .the monorail resorts are nice and conveninent, but I know there is much more out there just as beautiful!

Please help . . . .thanks in advance :D

My favorite has always been PO-FQ. It is about 1/2 the number of rooms as PO-R. I like the smaller size and the New Orleans style a little better although I enjoy PO-R as well. One nice thing about staying at either is that it is a very nice walk along the river between the two.

POFQ is our favorite. DW & I Honeymooned in New Orleans, which I think is part of the appeal of the place to us. We like that it is pretty compact, with none of the rooms more than a couple minute walk from the pool, buses, or food. The feeling is a bit like a really clean city full of great gardens and a big bright pool.

POR is our second favorite Moderate, and not far behind. The buildings here are more spread out, with either the way-spread out giant "mansions" with their big lawns, or the wooded "bayou" buildings (our favorites) which are smaller and situated a bit closer together. The main POR pool area is on a beautiful wooded island, which is a wonderful, romantic evening walking-place.

Both resorts are situated along a "river", and are linked by a walking path; one of our favorite things to do while staying at either is to stroll to the other for a meal or a drink and a dip in the pool. The boat ride to Downtown Disney is another great feature (although it is currently shut down, it will hopefully be restarted once crowds pick up), offering you a romantic cruise to the nighttime excitement of DD.

I would really recommend either of these resorts; We usually choose them over the Deluxes, and use the money we save to splurge on dinners, souvenirs, and other niceties.

Personally, I love the PO Riverside. The mansions are beautiful. The gazebo at the Magaloia Terrace building is lovely. It is my favorite resort.

PO-FQ is smaller and has a more intimate feel to it, IMHO. Though POR is nice, it's a bit too huge and spread out for my tastes. Whichever resort you decide on, try to get a King Bed/Corner room. Might be more expensive, but it'll be worth it. If you can get king-bed corner, water view in PO-FQ, hopefully you'll be overlooking the "river". It's really pretty!

We loved the seclusion of the Bayou rooms at PO-R. We have stayed at PO-R (then DXL) twice, once in the Mansions and once in the Bayou, and far preferred the setting of the Bayou.

As for PO-FQ... I really can't weigh in on that, since we won't be staying there until October.

I'd vote FQ. The smaller size gives it a better feel.
