Which is better CBR or PO?

Thank you!! That is very helpful!! I'll have to check that out.

And thanks for the comments, I think the kids will have so much fun. I'm so excited for them I could just scream! I don't know how I'm going to hold out for another year. I really wish we had the money to do it this year and next. I know it's better to wait until Brenna is 2 she'll have more fun. But I just see how much she is amazed by everything and riley would just flip seeing everything.

This last year we did a surprise trip to the Dells.(we are about 3 hours from them) We got awesome rates and took the kids. This time we didn't tell Riley where we were going. We just said for a ride in the car.(I had packed up the car the night before) Then as we were getting close where you can see the big resort, I asked him where we were. He looked around and went NUTS when he saw the resort. (we stay at the waterpark resorts) I mean crazy:woohoo: :cool1: :cheer2:  Crazy. It was the single most exciting day of his life. Just being on a plane will make him so happy.(he's never been) Much less seeing all that Disney has to offer. My son loves vacation. He saw me looking at the resorts and right away asked, is that my vacation? And he's only ever been to the Dells.

Another vote for the CBR. We have stayed at the CBR and POFQ. POFQ was definitely nice and we had no complaints about staying there.

Being that they are both moderates, to us it comes down to theming. We just prefer the CBR feel. Being from NY, when I go to florida I want to feel like I am in the tropics. The CBR gives us that look and feel of being "away" on an island somewhere.

We love the steel drum music, landscaping and beaches. We sometimes take a break from the parks in the late afternoon and go back to the resort. DW and I will bring down a drink or two and sit in the sand and build sand castles with dd. DD gets to play and run in the sand and we get to relax a bit. Best of both worlds.

The theming of the pool is nice. I like the whole spanish fort decor over the giant dragon/lizard thing. CBR also has boats you can rent which is fun when you are looking for something other than the parks to do with the kids (I think POFQ has them too but don't remember).

Honestly don't remember the food court at POFQ (it was '99) but the CBR is fine with us. There is a decent selection of foods and we always find something we want for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I know some people complain about it but to us it is a "food court". I understand I am not getting gourmet here, just the basics and for that it serves it's purpose.

The CBR is also the biggest of the moderates which some people do not like, but if you are going to get a preferred room, it's perfect. We stayed in Martinque 26 last year and it was a 30 second walk to the food court and pool. We had a beach right outside our building and a playground a stones throw away. We have also stayed in Trinidad South which is the furthest village. Actually we like that the resort is big. It makes it feel less crowded and more like we are away and alone.

As for transportation we always rent a car so I would not know which is better.

Everyone has there own opinions and I don't think you can go wrong with either. To my family CBR just feels like a vacation within a vacation.
