I am planning a Disney Cruise for just Hubby and I. We went last year and did the land and sea with kids. I need advice on which to book, is there one better than the other. I am thinking Western(more expensive), so any info would be helpful. Thanks!

We have been on one of each & prefer the Eastern...extra day at sea & we like St. Maarten & St. Thomas better.

It really depends on what you are looking for. I think the Western is more busy with more ports of call, so if you are to get off the boat and do some exploring the Western may be more to your liking. If you are looking to just relax, then the Eastern might be more for you. I have been to St Thomas and St John and while both are beautiful islands, there is not alot to do except shop & snorkel. The water and weather are perfect for a couple to chill out and relax.

I definitely prefer the Western because I love the ports. I love to walk around Key West, and everyone should snorkel with the stingrays in Grand Cayman at least once in their life. I adore Cozumel and will never get tired of it...too much to do there and too little time.
The Eastern seems more beach and shopping focused, although I do like the extra day at sea. But I DON'T like getting up early for immigration, so that is a big turn-off on that itinerary for me.

Very basically if you like sea days, take the Eastern, if you like more ports, take the Western.
We're seaday folks, so we picked the Eastern.
Next choice would be ports. We wanted a Caribbenan Cruise, so again, Eastern was the pick. Key West is not what I think of as a Caribbean port.
Having said that, I could pass on St. Thomas. Our Disney cruise was the first time our kids had been to St. Thomas, so at least now they have been there, but since our excursion wasn't until 1 pm, we could have slept in, if not for the crazy immigration situation now there.
We always get off the ship at all ports. My wife and I had been to St. Thomas 4 times in the past, the last three were before this crazy immigration thing, and other lines, and we always used this as a sleep in day, and booked an afternoon excurison.

I don't think either is better, choose your cruise depending on what you want to see.

Its been covered that you get an extra sea day Eastern and an extra port day Western and I'm sure you can figure out that you can relax, shop, beach-it, or be real active at any of the ports in question. And obviously, everyone's taste runs different, one person might love this particular port and hate the other and vise versa, no definitive answer to be hadd. I didn't see two other possible factors mentioned, price and time of year. If money is a consideration for you, Eastern tends to be less costly. If you're going during (approx) Jan or Feb and great beach weather is a consideration for you, the likelihood is that the Western will offer better beach weather (Cayman & Cozumel tend to be warmer than time of year than the US Virgin Islands). I know first hand that is not always the case, just that it is more likely.
