which II trade

We have stayed at Marriott Cypress Harbour twice with an II trade. I think we may be spoiled. That place is absolutely beautiful, spacious, and friendly. We wouldn't mind staying there again but would like to try some place different. Maybe somewhere closer. Sometime ago we stayed somewhere that was horrible, the place was nearly falling apart. I wish I could remember the name so I knew to stay away from it. Anyway. That experience has made us gun-shy. Any recommendations considering how much we loved Cypress Harbour. II also exchanges with DVC. What are the chances of finding an exchange in November? We are planning for '08.

DVC are hard to find.

Disney on the hold does do a batch listing - although Dean will argue with me.

but his resort sees a heck of alot more than my resort. I only see them (if at all) one at a time.

II will tell you it is impossible - don't believe them.

if you are willing to get on the II website early each morning - you can probably get one.

We have gotten OKW, BWV (very rare) and SSR through II trades. I usually get on around 7 am every morning. I have seen them frequently (last minute) early in the morning, but they are usually gone by 9am.

It is possible, but your dates do have to be flexible.

I really wasn't even counting on a DVC exchange. I'm sure the owners realize how valuable they are and can sell their week fairly easy. I was just curious if there was even a chance of snagging one. Our dates are flexible only by a few days. We are only interested in the Disney parks so I thought we might get somewhere closer then Cypress Harbour but again we are sort of spoiled by it now.

Each morning usually sees 2-5 DVC units listed for anywhere in the next six or eight months. Sometimes even farther out. During September, I saw several June and July studios pop up. They usually don't last long, though.

If you have a really good idea of when you want to go, put in an ongoing search; then you'll be "in line" before the early-AM lookie-loos get their crack at 'em.

The marriotts are all really nice, but none of them are super close; perhaps the * Palms are the closest? I haven't looked at the map recently.. In II, the Cypress Pointes are both quite nice and quite close. Vistana is also quite close, but the quality can be variable.

It says in fine print in the II catalogue next to OKW and Boardwalk Villas " a resort service fee is payable prior to check-in" Anyone know anything about that and how much it might be? There is no mention of it at SSR, BCV or VWL.

The extra $95 resort fee applies for II exchanges into any DVC resort at WDW. If you get a match, you'll be notified of it before you confirm. It's payable to Disney before you arrive.

DVCs show up every so often. I'd think that early November would be more likely than Thanksgiving or after.

On other resorts, I'd recommend Grande Vista in the Marriott group - a little bit different feel from Cypress Harbour but very nice in its own way. Also Vistana Villages should come up, too. Beyond those maybe Cypress Pointe.
