Which Hotels Have Sofa Beds?

For my upcoming trip in March, I am traveling with my best friend and her son, aged 16. For obvious reasons he doesn't want to share a bed with his mom. She insisted he could sleep on the floor, well, I'm a little more soft hearted than she is. I would like to investigate all our options so EVERYONE has at least a semi-comfortable place to sleep each night.

I know with some of the mods there is the murphy bed option, but he's far too tall for that, as are any of us. So obviously the next option would likely be a room with a sofa bed/day bed option, which would hopefully be doable with an AP discount. I just need to know which hotels I would need to stalk/budget for.

I have no idea if this is even an option but at other hotels in my travels you could often get a folding cot for one person if you needed an extra bed. Would this be possible on property as well?

Bring - or make his mom bring - an inflatable mattress. Afaik, sofa here are only in deluxe resrts, and not at ALL or AWL.

Also, at BC/YC and BW, I believe the sofa bed is not in all Standard units. They are at CR, Poly and GF.

We're both flying in (though from different states), so I was hoping to avoid added luggage, which is why I was hoping to go the sofa bed route. Well, at this moment I will cross my fingers for a BC/YC decent discount.

I often travel to Disney with my mom and son. My son and I don't want to share a bed either. We usually stay at Pop and they have a few roll away beds for $17 a night. You can't request one early only on your arrival, but we have been fortunate to get one every time. However, I believe I've read on these boards recently that the new refurbed rooms at Pop won't fit one. I'm hoping that's not true. ☹️ So maybe requesting a non refurbed room is an option. Hope you find something that works and enjoy your trip.

We looked at the new Pop rooms and didn't think that we would be able to fit another bed (of some sort) in them. We were looking at CSR and hoping that they have the roll away beds. But I would rather not chance it (and give this kid a great experience for his first visit).

Some people ship them. Or order them to be shipped to the hotel, but new ones can have a plastic smell

Poly, GF, and CR are the ones that have the sofa bed in every room. AsMu Suites and AOA Suites too have additional sleeping areas, but only one "real" bed.

The other deluxes either don't have a sofa bed option (WL, AKL) or only some rooms have it so they are on request (BC, YC, BW) and with only 3 people in that reservation, it may be a tough request. Would be worth looking into some of the DVC options too.

I am nothing, if not optimistic. And I'm crossing my fingers that with the AP discount I could spring for something incredible.

Be sure to request room with sofa bed. Not all rooms have them at BC/YC. You may want to give short explanation on request, like traveling with different sexes, need sofa bed.
As mentioned the monorail resorts have sofa beds in all rooms.

I think we will do that, but we can also be flexible. We'll actually be down there the night before the 16 year old joins us so if we have to move rooms, we're okay with that.

I've stayed at AoA in one of the suites. Each has a queen bed in the bedroom (with its own separate bathroom ), a pull-down Murphy bed in the dining area, and a sleeper sofa. Both the Murphy bed and sleeper sofa were pretty comfortable. It was a great solution for our group, comprised of three unrelated women. And so nice to have two bathrooms and a microwave and fridge!

I did look at the AoA suites, but the cost would be more than a deluxe room. But since I'm the planner of this little adventure, I'm willing to price out everything and just throw numbers and options at my friend until she makes a decision.

WL and AKL have bunk beds. I would sleep in one without any issues but it depends on the sizes in your group.

Those are 1 queen and the 2 singles.

I just tried WL and put in 4 adults and the bunk rooms do show availability fyi.

Check out the price of a standard wing room at CR too. It should cost a lot less than a tower room at CR, and you'd have a guaranteed daybed and also a fair amount of space to move around.

I do like your choice of BC/YC, but I'd be worried with 3 people that you might not get that daybed (I believe families of 5 have first dibs on the daybed rooms). However, if it's your only request, then maybe you'd have a chance! We are in the same boat, though we're a family of 4, but we have 2 teens and really want/need a daybed so I made that our only request for our upcoming stay at BC. For what it's worth, one time we didn't get a daybed so they brought us a cot for our room. It was sort of inconvenient finding a place for the cot, but we figured it was more important to get some good sleep so we were fine with it.

Good luck!

Thank you! I did look at the Garden Wing at the Contemporary and agree that the price doesn't actually kill me/my wallet. It's good news to hear about the cot because I really want the BC/YC for the pool. (This kid wants a good pool and you really can't beat Stormalong Bay.) Now just to make the number work.

And WL is my favorite resort too. I will double check with my friend her thought on the bunkbeds because I have no problem sleeping in one, but the six foot tall kid might.

We've had bunk bed rooms at AKL and WL and the top bunk is really awkward to get in/out if you are not a kid. You have to bend down so you don't hit your head and it's just really awkward to bend and get up/down if you are over 5' feet tall. I don't think that option works with the makeup of your group. The Murphy bed at CBR and POR is almost a better option If one of the women can sleep in it.

I think the daybed rooms at the deluxes are really the most comfy option for 3 full-grown people. I would look into the CR garden wing if you want that guaranteed daybed. For other options (BC/YC) I've had good luck in the past with room requests. If there is something I really want (such as connecting rooms when traveling with my mom), I make that my only request and it's been granted. But it really depends on what is available and who else needs a daybed. It's not guaranteed.

Are you sure? I'm looking at the rates for this past March on wdwinfo.com, and while AoA suites ranged from $413 to $502 http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/disney-rates-2017.htm#value wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/disney-rates-deluxe-2017.htm#beach

Just a heads up, the sofa bed at Kidani sucksssssss. I'm 5'7" and my feet hung off the bed by about 6".
