We haven’t been to Disney since January 2016 and have always stayed at Pop. This year we decided to rent DVC points through David’s for the week of May 23 at the Poly, but obviously that isn’t looking like it’s going to happen. We’ve been told we will have a cash credit to use to make another reservation so we’re already looking at our options so we can do that as soon as we can.

Since I am a teacher and in grad school, we really can’t go again until the first week of June 2021. For that week (7 nights, 8 park days), we are trying to decide between the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian. We will have our 10 and 12 year old girls. The Grand Floridian is $5 more than our cash credit, and the Polynesian is $135 more than our cash credit.
What do you all think?

I would choose the GF because I wouldn’t want to give David’s any more additional money than I had to.

But ignoring that, I would still choose VGF over Poly. I just like the vibe there better.

I really enjoyed both but have a slight preference for VGF.
But VGF studios can be difficult to get at the 7 month window, unless David is arranging a 11 month reservation from a VGF owner.

Honestly, I think you may have to consider that getting VGF may be tough because in order to rent there, you need a VGF owner,

Poly is much larger so there may be more owners who are renting points for 11 month bookings,

I personally love VGF, but either one is nice,

David may even have a hard time finding any owners to rent their points after this mess with his contract changes. If I were you, I'd get a trip booked just as quickly as possible. David can't get a DVC reservation for June 2021, until July 2020. If you haven't accepted his voucher yet, get a cash refund or chargeback from your credit card and book your own trip using cash..
