Hey All!
I am so excited to be going to DL for the first time this summer!!!:Pinkbounc I am trying to plan now and am trying to decide on a hotel. Ideally I would like to stay in a hotel that is cheap but nice and within walking distance of DL. The thing is we would only be doing DL for 2-3 days and other things in Southern CA the rest of the time so I don't really want to do a Disney package for the whole time.
Thansk for the help!
Minnesota

The following accomodations are located next to Disneyland with walking distance times of 4-15 minutes. They seem to have the best comments from numerous boards I frequent.
My two favorites are the Candy Cane Inn www.candycaneinn.net and the Howard Johnson http://www.hojoanaheim.com/
The Candy Cane has a bit more of a theme. It is a two story motel with nice gardens and a great free breakfast.
Howard Johnson has mostly interior corridors and loads of trees on the property and is quite comfortable.
On the map below the Candy Cane Inn is not marked but it is the U shaped motel that is right above the dot ( across the street) from where the Four Points is indicated.

The other hotels that get decent to good review are...
The Park Inn
The Best Western Park Place Inn
The Desert Inn and Suites
The Tropicana
The Carousel Inn
The Best Inn ( Now known as the Del Sol)
Best Western Anaheim
The Portofino Inn and Suites
The Anabella ( on the map it is located above the word "convention")
The West Coast
The Best Western Park Place Inn is located at the cross walk that leads over to the parks.
Most of these places can be had for between $59 - $99
