Hi all! I'm looking for some feedback, regarding the The Grand Californian, and Paradise Pier hotels. Last year we stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, it was nice, but we would only choose it again if we got a fantastic rate. The GC looks nicer and more conveniently located, but I've seen PP offer some terrific rates. I'm not really sure where PP is located and how convenient it is.
Any feedback regarding these two resorts is appreciated!
Oh, just a bit more info...we will be there late Sept., DH,3yr. old DD and myself. Any chance of getting GC for less than $200 a night?
Thanks!
Elisabeth

Here is an ariel shot with alot of the hotels marked. The Paradise Pier is newer than the Disneyland hotel but still just two towers that were built by another company and then Disney bought it and refurbished it. The rooms are nice and the hotel is located across the stree from DCA with some incredible views of the park. Paradise Pier Hotel has a special entrance into DCA that is located across the street.
The Grand Californian is a much more themed hotel with an awesome lobby and wonderful public spaces. The rooms are smaller than at the other 2 Disney hotels but are cozily decorated. The location is the best. You can be in either of the two parks real fast.
Sometimes Expedia offers the Disney hotels for some great prices but you have to wait untill a week or two before your trip!

I fell in love with GC when I stayed there in October 2001!! We went to explore PP a little, but weren't that impressed as far as theme goes. It really depends on what's important to you. I'm a big fan of the Wilderness Lodge in WDW, so GC really appealed to me. Very warm and cozy, and convenient, as daannzzz mentioned.

I was able to get a 4 nights for the price of 3 rate that brought the GC per night rate to an average of $177 before taxes. You may be able to get in for under $200 if this is where you want to stay.
