Thanks

I can recommend the Cheyenne Hotel as the theming excellent, although it does not have a pool.
The Sequoia Lodge comes highly recommended by many on the boards :thumbsup2

lol, not by me it dont! :lmao: , i had a bad experience with the room we stayed in last time but the rest of the hotel was good. Also if you or the kids have a PSP you can get online with it using wifi in reception area's apparently.

Definately the Sequoia Lodge. We have stayed there twice and are going again next month.

The theming is excellent both int he rooms and the oublic areas. The bar is fantastic and the two restaurants are good, particular if you are a big meat eater.

We have also stayed at the Newport Bay but found this to be very big with a long walk to our room. The restaurants were not as good and we found that when the hotel was busy, they opened up a room in the conference centre to cope with the breakfast demand. This involved quite a walk and the service was terrible.

Hope this helps.

If you are happy staying nearby I would reccomend the Holiday Inn at Val de France. It is just a 5 min bus ride away and is usually much cheaper

I've never stayed at Sequoia Lodge, but from what I've heard from friends it seems excellent!

When we stayed in the Newport Bay it wasn't very busy so we didn't have a long walk to our room and there were no problems with breakfast. But i suppose this all depends on when you go!

Although if you don't really like fish, as I don't then the restaraunts possibly wouldnt be quite ideal

Go cheaper & stay at Davy Crockett

It has the best pool on site

much quieter & private than a hotel

SpACE IN THE CABIN TO RELAX.

Only drawback - you need a car!

For mid range I can't recommend the Newport Bay enough, but pay the extra for an Admiral's Floor room. It is a big hotel and I can see how some rooms might be an awfully long walk from reception/lifts etc., but we (4 adults, 3 kids) thoroughly enjoyed it.

As 2 families we were given 2 superb rooms not far from the lifts with lovely views out over the lake. We got to have breakfast in a very exclusive breakfast area the Captain's Quarters by invitation (for staying on the Admiral's floor) so no trouble with breakfast queues. Have a look at my trip report for any more info.
The only thing I would say is be aware that the NPB has a large conference facilities, there were several conferences on whilst we there, so what I found unusual was men and women milling around the hotel in business suits during the day and evening wear at night. I had quite an odd experience when I found myself in a lift with 3 other women, whilst they were in elegant evening gowns, I on the other hand still had on my Mickey Mouse Anorak and Minnie Mouse hat with ears.

DH loved the consierge service, I loved the hotel, full stop and the boys loved the nautical theming. I wouldn't hesitate to go back, although it's my intention to try and stay in all the Disney hotels so have been thinking about the Sequoia Lodge or New York for next time.

BTW it's a lovely walk to and from the NPB especially at night, I love the atmosphere of the village, and the lake is so beautiful at night as is the NPB, it's beautifully lit up.

All that jillrobinson said about the NPBC is true! It is my 2nd favourite hotel of the resort!
If I could afford it I would stay at every visit at the DLH! This is the most beautiful hotel in the resort and the most magical one! If you walk through the lobby at night (or in the early morning) and you can see the empty Main Street.. HAVEN!! :cloud9:

Thanks for all your comments really helpful. :thumbsup2 Looking forward to planning :cool1:
