Which hotel? RPR or HRH??

Right now I have the RPR booked for last week of August for $125 for a waterview room. For our dates, the HRH has garden view rooms for the same price-- $125.

I originally chose RPR because my family really likes the tropical, laid back feeling of this hotel (although DH probably likes the HRH theme just as well).

But, I'm just not sure! We will be staying there for 6 nights and we plan on spending some time just relaxing and enjoying the hotel itself--along with the others since we can pool hop. But since we are staying for more than just a few nights, I really want to choose the right hotel for us.

I have 2 DC- ages 10 and 12. Will they like the pool at RPR, since it doesn't have a slide? I've been reading the boards and visiting sites. The pictures of RPR are gorgeous!! However, I've read some negative reviews about the hotel-- although most of them seem to be around when they opened last year.

For those of you who have stayed at these hotels before-- which would you choose? Especially, since price is the same (although different views).

Please help me make a decision!

I'd take the HRH any time over the RPR given the same price ... the short walk to the parks alone is well worth it ...

I personally prefer RPR. HRH does have the advantage of being closer to the parks but I love the laid back tropical atmosphere of RPR.

Regarding the pool: My 10 year old nephew loved the pool at RPR. We couldn't get him out of it last trip. LOL

It does depend on preference but I would take the RPR over the HRH anyday! I've been to both and my 10yo son agrees. It's just so darned COZY!

RPR is very laid back. You do feel like you're in a different world, south pacific that is. You will see lots of families with children. The pool is very nice. Though it doesn't have the slide, they have the interactive water play area. The atmosphere is very relaxing. I went over to HRH and I felt that the themeing is more for teenagers and RnR fans. I am however going to stay there for one night just so I have something to compare to.

I think we'll keep our RPR reservations. We definitely like the tropical theme. I'll make sure to write a trip report when we get back!!

THank you all!!
