i am once again doing research for my solo trip. i thought that i had finally decided on HRH after now staying at all 3 but i am having second thoughts. i think going alone i would definitely like to be around people so i am planning on going in the middle of the summer before my AP expires. i went this last time in september and PBH was a ghost town so i don't want to do that again. though it was very hot when i went july 4th, i loved the heavy crowds.

which hotel would you choose as a solo traveler for travel in late june and why? TIA

i am doing my third solo trip for this fall and always in the past used hrh.
i always felt secure walking back and forth from the parks or city walk late at night. very short walk to hrh using the short cut.

this year i will use rph for a change and have wondered about the security for the walk to rph late at night. i assume all of them are patrolled and safe.

since you are going during a busy time, i would chose hrh for the short walk and security that is stationed at the end of the walkway from hrh to the park.

which ever one you chose, you can't lose....they are all great

RPR
The pool has a volleyball net, and 2 basketball hoops. You can swim up and join in. Plus you can see the Laua show on the weekends.
HRH only has nerf footballs in their pool, you'd need a friend to throw too.

I wouldn't worry about the walk to the parks, it's lite up, and there are always people around.

September is a dead time to visit. Good if you don't like crowds. If you want action, go July 4th thru the end of that month, and you get to see the fireworks at 09:55pm each night. Visit a park in the morning, come back for a swim, then visit the parks at night and see the fireworks. Doesn't get much better than that.

I think I would choose HRH as well. Everything is very close and there is Emack and Bolio's (and Starbuck's) downstairs for those little indulgences!

If I were going on a solo trip, I would check for a decent rate at HRH. If I coud get a poolview within $20 of what I could get at RPR, I would do HRH. If RPR was more than $20 cheaper, I would book RPR.

Family trip, definately RPR or PBH because they guarantee upgrade to suite upon booking.
