Which hotel for one night in Val d'E ?

I'm just trying to decide where to stay on our first night before moving onto the Sequoia Lodge the next day. I'd like to be in Val d'Europe so we're near the shops and restaurants and also as close to the train station as possible so we don't have to drag our cases too far.

It doesn't have to be anything fancy as it's just for one night so at the moment I'm looking at the Residhome and the Sejours & Affairs. Both are coming out at around the same price if I use the ebookers code for the Residhome. Does anyone have any thoughts for either of these? As usual the reviews range from dreadful to brilliant so aren't very helpful!

Any opinions would be gratefully received!

I've heard good things about the Premier Classe at Bussy Saint Georges, just two stops away from DLP on the train. It's very cheap at about £30 for a room for the night, it's kinda like a Travelodge.

We've used that one. Don't expect anything special or even like a travelodge bathroom. It has a small plastic cubical loo /shower but while VERY small, does the job! St Thiabault is LOVELY though (same loo set up but all renovated). Which ever one you choose (we've done Torcy too which us FAB for shops and food), the beds are fabulous memory type ones and I totally love them :)

I will just add though BSG is a fair walk with cases just for the night. Its an akward walk through an industrial building site and its not easy to do with cases. Torcy is easier, though its an American style motel rather than hotel, and the windows are tiny and the room is small - but perfectly adequate for one night. We drove for ST so I have no idea where the station is and we drove to Torcy everyday on the way.

Have you considered the Disney partner hotels?

On a few trips we have stayed at the partner hotels before moving onsite. The buses are frequent to the train station /parks / village so easy to go for a meal.

We have stayed at the Explorers, Dream Castle and Magic Circus.

Dream Castle / magic Circus were better than the explorers in my opinion - The Dream Castle has a nice bar and outside terrace.

You can normally get good deals for any of these on travelrepublic.com

We stayed in the Residhome in August and would recommend it for location, we plan on staying there again next year for a DLP and Paris trip as it is so convenient. It is literally 30 seconds walk from the metro station. Opposite that there is an Ibis which is the same distance from the station but would be cheaper.

We stayed 1 night at sejours in july, couldn't fault it. We paid 20 euros for a taxi from there to cheyenne, but if i'd known how close and easy the free shuttle from outside the elyssee was we would've used that. We opted for breakfast as it was only an extra euro per person and it was comparable to the disney hotels. Have you had a look at the reviews on here, lynnette did a really good one. :goodvibes

Thanks for all the replies. I think we're going to go for somewhere in the Val d'Europe area as we will be visiting the supermarket for supplies and I'd like to check out the other shops.

How long does it take to walk to the Sejours & Affairs? I like that the Residhome is near the metro but the S&A is a bit cheaper.

5 mins walk to the shopping mall add an extra 2 mins to cross the road to the train station. Its all very compact :)

The shopping precinct is huge though.
