I am travelling to Orlando with two of my children in the next few months. Since it will be a quick trip, I want to stay in an off-site hotel, probably just doing MK for one day. We've only stayed on property before, so I'm at a bit of a loss. I'd like to stay somewhere:

1. Close to DTD

2. Recently renovated or constructed

3. With a very family-oriented atmosphere (as opposed to a drinking, partying, or spring break feel)

4. With a fantastic pool (the more in-hotel activities, the better)

5. In a very safe area

What would you recommend? I've been eyeing the Wyndham Buena Vista (Regal Sun Resort) but I've read mixed reviews.

Obviously, less expensive would be better, but I'm willing to pay a little more if necessary. Thank you!

The Holiday Inn Downtown Disney was completely redone about a year ago but I don't know what it has for kids other than a zero entry pool.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn last year; it had just reopened, was reasonably priced and it was very, very nice. We thought it was clean and had a full restaurant, bar, and small store. There was a good size pool, but we didn't use it. We didn't use the bus service as we had a rental car. It was also a convenient walk to DTD.
With regards to Regal Sun Resort -- We stayed there two years ago, and it was dirty. I would not recommend staying there. When we tried to complain to the hotel manager about our room not being cleaned, it took forever for her to come talk to us and then she didn't believe us. Finally, she did send housekeeping to our room to inspect it, and that housekeeper was shocked at it. She told us to give her some time and she will clean it herself.
I recommend staying at the Holiday Inn, it is a 5 minute walk to DTD and they do have ubses to take you to the parks.

That’s really great to hear, it’s always good to go on a vacation with family. You have decided a nice place, I am sure that you will have great time. I would suggest you to try Disney vacation homes; it will completely suit your demands. They are economical, beautiful, you can have privacy etc and I think it is the ideal one for your family.
