Which Holiday Inn?

I am trying to compare Holiday Inn Family Suites, HI Sunspree, HI Maingate East , and HI Maingate West. We want a kidsuite and will be spending most of our time at WDW and one day at seaworld. We have two young children.Any info would be nice. We are trying to get the best rate we can. We are going 4/29-5/6. Thanks!

Holiday Inn Family Suites! It has the largest suites, excellent proximity to WDW (not far from Seaworld either), and I believe it is also the newest? Also if you check these boards you will see that it is by far the favorite HI of families. You won't be disappointed!

One big difference between HIFS and Sunspree is that the kids room at HIFS is a real separate room and at Sunspree it is a walled off area from the main room. HIFS gives you three separate rooms and Sunspree gives you a big room with a walled off area for the kids beds. I'm not sure about the other Holiday Inns.

I was just coming to ask this same question, but luckily did a search first! After reading this, I went and looked at Holiday Inn's website, and sure enough, I see the difference in the walls now. (I didn't notice it before.) For anyone else wondering, here is a picture of the Sunspree room and here is a picture of the 2 bedroom HIFS suites.

Thank you! We have booked HIFS and are very excited! My daughter is carrying around the maps of the parks and already choosing what she wants to do there! She is excited about the kidsuites, the train, and the pools at HIFS. This forum has been so helpful in our planning.

Hi,

Holiday Inn Family Suites is by far the best. They have an awesome pool and a very helpful staff. As a travel agent I have never heard one complaint this property.

I also have a lot of clients that are happy with the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Maingate East. It is a smaller property but they have really spacious rooms (great kidsuites) for a good price. Their pool is kind of small.

The Holiday Inn Universal is also very nice if you don't mind being on the other side of orlando.

I would stay away from the Holiday Inn Sunspree.We've driven by and it seems a little more run down than the Family Suites. I've never stayed there myself but haven't heard good things from our clients.

Just for the record...

We stayed there for 2 weeks in Feb. My DS is 4 and DD is 6 and they absolutely LOVED it. I had read some bad reports before I left and was really worried, but thankfully I had NO problems whatsoever. We didn't have breakfast included in our rate, so we only used it on 2 mornings - the buffet - no complaints. I ate in the bar one night and was very pleased with the food. The pool is great for the kids (and adults too) - although my personal favourite were the two hot tubs! The kids club staff were wonderful - particularly Melissa who hosted the bingo and karakoe at night. Kids movies were played from 9am until 7pm - (free of charge). The main desk staff were always very friendly, and upgraded our room without question.

The room was cleaned every day, and complimentary packs of coffee supplied.

All in all, the whole family was very pleased with Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort. If we are lucky enough to go to Orlando again, we will definately consider staying at HISR again.
