Narrowed our choices down to these 2 hotels. We are a family of 6 with 4 kids and need a suite type of hotel. We have Hilton points we will be using. Has anyone stayed at either of these and can recommend one over the other? Thanks so much!

Stayed at both.

Doubletree is at Disney Springs and walking distance. They also have a decent bus system. The suites were newly renovated a few years ago and beautifully done. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here. Pool area is nice but nothing fancy.

Embassy Suites had a reno as well but not sure it included rooms, and some rooms are not in the main building but outside wings. It spent a lot on the water/pool and other recreation amenities outside. ES does include a breakfast buffet. I personally would only stay off property if I had a car and were driving to parks.

Both give you suites and both have parking fees which are not included in point stays. The real difference is location/transportation, pool amenities and the breakfast.

We are a family of 5 and ALWAYS choose Embassy over other Hilton properties if possible, because of the free hot breakfast. If we were to go out to Denny's, it'd cost us well over $50 to eat there, so we count that as a huge savings on breakfast.

They also have an evening reception that includes beer and well drinks, snacks, soda or juice for the kids. My son loves getting Shirley temples at them, LOL.

Doubletree has cookies.. which are nice, but breakfast wins for us.

We loved the Doubletree!! However, unless you are gold or diamond level with Hilton, you have to pay for breakfast there. And even then, only two of us got the full breakfast while the kids got just the continental. Which was fine with them, but still.

As a family of 6, we always try to stay at the Embassy for all of the reasons the PP listed above.

As a family of 5 adults who travel together we also look towards the Embassy Suites as well. The breakfast and reception are great. I think what is key here is TRANSPORTATION. IF the OP is dependent on that I would pick Doubletree rather than be tied to a limited shuttle, especially with so many kids. If they have a car then I would probably pick Embassy not just for the food but the water play area and the fact that with points they will not have to pay the big resort fee.

PS We have stayed at several Doubletree Suites as Diamond and they have always given our whole family hot breakfast coupons.

Doubletree Times Square ~ Gold ~ 2 Breakfast Certs

NOW that is one we did not have success at - got NONE.
But it was New Years Eve week.
We were pretty pumped to have a suite overlooking Times Square for a week on points.
And walking out the front door for New Years.
Otherwise every other time we got and there were 4, 5 and 6 of us.

Well, the only Doubletree who hasn't given a hot breakfast to all 6 of us (been Diamond for years) was this one at LBV.... And Times Square
