I've decided I can deal with no inside corridor. But I'm I want to be super close, so, Carousel, Tropicana, Best Western or Anaheim Inn. Maybe Candy Cane. I'll be using an ECV and don't want to deal with shuttles. I can go a full day at WDW on one charge, but. Don't want to push the travel distance.

We just got back from 5 days at the Tropicana, our first time there. The location was great, nice and close to the entrance. The room was clean; the staff was nice. My only complaint was that we only got shampoo and lotion and brown bar soap for toiletries. No liquid soap or conditioner. (Also, the brown soap smelled good, but when I'm trying to get clean, I don't want to see brown.) We were on the 3rd floor and the elevator access was fine; ice and vending was right there too.
We've also stayed at the Desert Inn (which was also a great location and had free continental breakfast) but I thought the Tropicana was nicer. We've also stayed at the Fairfield a couple of times, where the rooms are even nicer, but it is a little further down Harbor Blvd.

Park vue inn is our go to harbor hotel. But breakfast is upstairs, I would ask how you get to it with an ecv.

We just stayed 7 nights at the Fairfield Marriott (6/22-6/29). It was nice and the rooms were large enough for the 5 of us. 2 adults, 17, 15, and 9 and all of our large suitcases lined up against the wall for easy access each day. Something to consider if you will also need to park your ECV inside your room. We were on the backside facing the freeway. Noise which usually does bother me didn't. Glad we didn't we were not on the pool side because of noise. We didn't pay for theme or firework view. It was very easy to go up to the 9th floor and watch from there.

We love the Candy Cane Inn. Their private shuttle is great (clean, on time, friendly drivers), but you don't have to use it. (Although it can be nice to know it's available just in case you need it.) If you get a premium room, breakfast will be delivered to your room, so you won't have to maneuver the ECV through the breakfast area.

We stayed at the Ramada Maingate at the Park in November. It has since been bought, remodeled, and reopened with a new name. It is now the Grand Legacy at the Park. It is less than a block from the main entrance and about a 5 minute walk to the gates. You can't get much closer. Even though it was under major construction when we stayed there, we found all the staff to be super friendly and really enjoyed our stay there.

I stayed at the desert inn and suites once with an ecv (I didn't reserve an acessable room since I didn't know I would be in the ecv went I reserved the room) and they were very accomidating about it and told me that if I felt the room was too small with the ecv or difficult to maneuver I could totally park it in the lobby and charge it. This was what we ended up doing and it worked very well for us. There was another ecv that was parked next to mine several times too.

I did Tropicana in March, not with an ecv but with a regular children's wheel chair. These were some issues we came across:
1. Even a small children's wheelchair wouldn't fit on the sidewalk to get around the housekeeping carts. You also couldn't really get around the cart by going through the parking lot because the cars are parked so close together and there was a high curb. This often meant that I was trying to bargain with housekeeping to get into our room when we would leave the park midday for a break. I was often begin them to move there cart so we could get by and then waiting several minutes for them to be willing to do so. Once a maid decided she was not going to wheel her chart to get it out of the way and we should try to squeeze past-there was not enough room and if my child had been more than 87 pound I would have ended up dumping him onto the ground when two wheels went off the curb.

2. parking being what it is there you will likely not able to park your own car (not even in a handicapped spot since there weren't enough spots). This means you will have to unload and reload your ecv and all your things very far from your room.

3. The room didn't have many outlets. If you park your ecv in your room this may mean that there might not be an outlet in an area that has enough space to store and charge your ecv. You could fix this by bringing a small extention cord. That way this wouldn't be an issue.

I havent stayed anywhere else on harbour with an ecv/wheelchair since we usually don't need them but may I suggest staying pretty close (candy cane is a bit far if your not using their shuttle) or atleast bringing your charger with you into the parks so you can be 100% sure you have enough charge before you leave. Having the battery run out late at night on harbour and having to figure out what to do about it sounds pretty awful to me. There are a few places you can charge an ecv in the parks if you keep your eyes open for them.

The Plaza Inn is as nice as BWPPI and about as close as you can get.
Really, all of the hotels on Harbor are fine and even the farthest ones away are only another 2~5 minutes walk.

You did not list it but I stayed at the Camelot Inn and it was great. A super short walk (15 min at most) and it had a compact layout as it was just one long building on the most part. They did have an elevator and the parking lot itself was not very large with a ramp near the handicap accessible spots so if you have a plates or a display you could take advantage of that. Also most families were using the stairs so the elevator shouldn't be too long of a wait, we only used it when we had luggage and only had to share with one other family. We had a king room and it was huge with a complete sitting area and microwave/fridge. We had plenty of room to lay our luggage out on the floor so you would be able to easily set up your ECV. There is no breakfast but we just bought our own groceries (I have a food allergy so it wasn't really something we missed out on). We were on a two week road trip and out of the 5 places we stayed I think this was the largest room honestly (and we paid for larger rooms with things like fireplaces at other motels). We got a discount rate for two days on orbitz and the other two using AAA.

My first stay at HOJO and I'm loving it. Our room is spacious , beds are just amazing and we are using an ECV with plenty of room. This is the premium 2 queen room and we love it. Everyone is so friendly and getting to the parks is very easy!

If you do want a hotel with indoor corridors Desert Palms is on West Katella but at the corner of Harbor (well next door to 7-11 which is on the corner of West Katella and Harbor). The pool is outside but surrounded by the building and not visible from the street at all. It is 0.5 miles so about a 10 minute walk and no need to cross Harbor since your already on the same side of the street. The hotel has a decent included breakfast. I was in a 1 bedroom suite but they have a few different room styles.

Also all of our buildings have indoor corridors, and the exterior doors lock at night. We will also be happy to charge your ECV in our luggage room over night, so it doesn't take up space in your room.

HTH and Hope you enjoy your stay in Anaheim!

WE stayed at the Camelot Inn last year and loved it! The rooms are huge and such a quick walk to the parks. When we booked our trip through Dreams Unlimited the Camelot Inn was considered a good neighbor hotel by Disney. We got a few extra perks because of that and using DU. I would definitely stay there again!

I have 2 reservations booked. One for Tropicana and one for Grand Legacy at the Park in a newer room. I think I am going to go with the Grand Legacy as it is remodeled.

We stayed at Best Western PPI with my Mom and Dad with ECV and it worked wonderful. It was super close to the parks and the breakfast was doable, although my sister and I went up and got breakfast for everyone so Mom and dad didn't have to manover with their ECV. The distance to the park was super convinent and everyone had a great time, even with first timers on the ECV!

Did you find the beds comfortable and rooms clean? Also was the breakfast served early enough to get to the parks early? Thanks

I was there the last week of July/first week of August 2013. Our room was spotless when we checked in. The beds were all comfortable enough to the best of my memory since we all fell asleep very quickly each night including my daughter who slept on the sofa bed.

I don't remember the time of breakfast or park openings but we were able to eat breakfast at the hotel each day and make it to the parks before opening for regular entry time. We may have grabbed something to eat along the walk for the 1 day we used the bonus extra hour that came with our pass to get into DL an hour early. We were always at breakfast right before it opened on our Disney days and had no trouble getting a table.
