Which GV at AKV would you choose? Jambo or Kidani?

So I know that Kidani's not even done yet, but I'm thinking out long term to a future trip.

Which Grand Villa at AKV would you choose? The Jambo GV's have the extra room for the pool table and are all on one level. Kidani GV's will have the two story window looking over the savannah. I see advantages for each type, but am completely undecided.

If you could pick, which would be your first choice and why?

If it were me and I had never stayed in a GV (I haven't) I would pick the Jambo House units. You get the pool table room, something no other GV has, and it's all on one level.

thats what my problem is too. Not sure which one we want either. I love the pool table idea. But i would love to stay in a new resort. But i know my way around Jambo house. And to my knowledge there is no cs in Kidani village. But the pool area has the interactive play place for the kiddos. ahhh im torn!

It is so nice to know that there are others here who think like I do! :-)

I have been pouring over those floor plans, trying to decide which would be the better way to go. I wish I could walk through one of each before I made a decision! :-) I like the pool table room in Jambo and the single story layout, but I like the kitchen layout better in Kidani, not to mention it's going to be brand spanking new. And I like the two story window - that must have a great wow factor - and the round dining table.

I hope there will be someone soon who can speak to each and make a recommendation! :-)

The GV's in Jambo were created only a year or two ago so they aren't "old".
We LOVED Jambo! The pool table was great to have. Check out the master bath in Kidani. In Jambo the room was huge with a tv and master closet that was larger than any I've every seen in a GV. The dining room table sits 12 easily too. The place was the size of 6 hotel rooms. It felt huge.

The only thing about Jambo that I don't care for is that I felt that I had no place to walk. The animals had all the freedom and I had to stay in the building or the observation area! The Kidani section should be better in that respect. I guess.

I'll let you know how the GV at Kidani is in August. We are taking a big trip with my family (11 in all) and struggled over the same question. We decided on Kidani for a few reasons. The extra bathroom in Kidani was a huge factor. The pool table at Jambo would have been cool, but we really didn't see ourselves using it much. The adults might have had fun using it, but all of our kids are too young. The new pool area at Kidani from the artists rendition looks like a lot of fun for our group. The two story layout with the big window seems appealing. And we like the fact that every thing will be new. The downside I can foresee is that because it is so new, there may be certain kinks that will need to be ironed out by new staff. I have no idea what types of kinks, but one time we went to a restaurant that had just opened and it was great food, but a really bad service. I am hoping that from June to August, Kidani will have much of the issues resolve. Plus, it's Disney for cryin out loud, they have done this a few times before.:thumbsup2

Some of the other issues like the distance to Jambo House and Boma, or the lack of a table service restaurant in Kidani we didn't feel was a big deal to us. We have a family that really doesn't sweat the small stuff.

Either GV would be a terrific place to stay, but those are the reasons we chose Kidani.

Wait - am I missing something? (Wouldn't be the first time!) I'm looking at the floor plans for GVs in both Kidani and Jambo - and they both have four full baths.

??? :confused3

.... Check out the master bath in Kidani. .

No Crap i could sleep there. give me a pillow and cover and i will sleep in the bath tub. our other problem is there are 21 of us. so we will have a GV a 2 bdrm and a studio. i think i would have better luck getting us closer together in jambo house since its all the 5th floor. that could just be my mind playin tricks on me maybe since there are more GV's in kidani village it will be easier to get everyone close. I guess I'm only going to request that we are close together and hope for that request instead of the other ones. I guess beggers can't be choosers so im just gonna be happy we're there.

You are right. I am the one who is confused! Maybe it was the layout of the bathrooms. I can't find Kidani floor plans. But I do remember seeing them. Now, quite honestly I don't remember. I remember looking at the floorplans with my wife and saying something about the bathrooms. I guess that is typical male or at least typical me, I listen to only half of the conversation. "Something something... bathroom,... yada yada yada,... Let's go with Kidani, ... yada yada ya,.. Book it!!!" Could it have been that they were across the hall in Jambo house?

Hopefully I don't find myself in the middle of the night peeing in a closet.:rolleyes2

My bad.

Unfortunately you may have to decide. The GV at Kidani and Jambo are two different room types, so you will reserve one or the other. Although if one is booked then your back to not needing to decide.

My motto...
Indecision is the key to flexibility.
