We are planning our next trip and I am researching the GoPro camera. I am hoping someone will share their experiences of the must haves for the gopro...chest strap? gopole? cap strap? seat clip? PLEASE HELP ME!!!

On our last trip I used the Chest Strap for rides and made a clamp with tripod mount for the waterparks. They now sell a "Jaws Flex Clamp" that will do the same thing as the clamp I made did. Other than that I would recommend extra batteries and a dual battery charger. Also extra SD cards or a way to export the data to free up space. Hope this helps.

On my first trip to WDW last September, my DG and I bought a gopro 3 black for our trip. I ended up buying few things for the trip to make sure our first trip is memorable and we have it on tape. Here is the list of things I used. I have the prices listed if buying via Amazon.

1. Gopro Hero 3
you can buy many different version of Gopro Hero. I have Hero3 Black. Current price $390.99

2. Battery BacPac the one that’s attached to Gopro directly
I also bought the battery bacpac the Hero 3 black to extend recording time just in case my External ran out of juice.
Current Price is $56.90 but it’s not sold by amazon

3. Memory Cards
since I was filming in 1080 W. I ended up buying 3 Samsung microSDXC 64 gig cards. The price has since dropped so it’s a good thing. I have heard rumors that the new SanDisk 128gig microsd will work and give you 9 hours recording time per disk. 64 gigs give you about 4 hours and 23 min recording time. Current price for Samsung MB-MGCGB/AM is $57.99.
Current price for SanDisk SDSDQXL-064G-G46A is $64.90

4. External battery pack
depending on which external you get can record all 4 hours without battery dying on you and charge your cell phone at the same time. I bought the Limeade 15600mAh model # L156X. I was able to record over 9 hours of video and charge Iphone4 and Galaxy while dinning without the battery getting low.
Current price $49.99 on amazon.

5. Anti-Fog inserts
I bought a pack for the camera just in case but I did not end up using them at all. They are still in my bag for next time.
Current price is $14.99

6. Extra battery for Gopro
Since I used an external Battery to charge my go pro, I did not buy any extra battery for it but if you plan on buying spare ones, look up Wasabi Power Battery 2 pack and charger
Current price is $23.99

7. Head Strap for hero 3
I know that I wanted to record the rides but also knew that chest strip will not work very well due to rides having chest restrain. I ended going with the head strap. It worked very well throughout WDW and rides. The 7 nights 8 day trip, I was asked about the Gopro maybe 4 times, saw 5 other people using them, and I stop counting how many people said hey its gopro.
Current price is $7.75

8. Charger for your electronic needs
since most people sometimes of cell, table, phablet, & etc. They will end up with tons of charging plugs. I found out too late but Anker came out with an awesome charger that will charge your gopro, Cell phones, External battery pack, and 2 more things via USB. Look up Anker 40W 5-port
current price is $25.99 comes in black or white

9. Backpack
As for the backpack I ended getting Mad Water Waterproof Action Sports Pack it is costly item but trust me, you will be able to fit all the stuff I have mentioned plus 2 cell phones, wallet, and 2 resorts mugs. Since gopro3 comes with a waterproof casing you should be okay with water rides with extra battery attached to it to record the entire ride. The Bacpac battery attachments comes with different casing you attached to Gopro Hero 3 so its water tight seal. Make sure to take your attachments with you when you go to WDW. The Backpack comes with a camel pack which we used to fill with water that lasted the whole day but we found out half way through the trip, you can get cup of ice water from any quick service place or any vendors who has soda found and cups you can get ice water.
Current price is $92.20 comes in 3 different colors.

If you have any questions just let me know :)

I'm glad to see GoPros being discussed here! I just returned home from my first vacation with a GoPro - we went to Costa Rica. I shot a great (if I do say so myself!) movie - posted here, though YouTube's music copyrights have kicked in and you can't view it on a mobile device:

Anyway... next up I am planning to use it for Disney this summer. Here's what I learned using it on the trip to Costa Rica:

Chest strap - somewhat useful, but I didn't use it as much as I thought I would. I think I like the point of view it gives more than a helmet mount but you can see your arms in everything you do and that blocks your shot to a degree. I'm trying to think of situations where I will really need the hands free view and can't think of many. We will be doing the water parks on this trip and I wonder if it will be useful there, though I'm guessing they may not allow it on some of the water slides.

The Bobber - this is my favourite mount. It's a short pole, maybe 6-8" long, that floats and has a wrist strap. I used this most of the time. Holding it with your arm extended in front of you, you can take great selfies. Not full-body selfies, but probably half your body. I used it at the beach, on boats, etc. since it supports the weight of the camera and won't let it sink. I also used it for general walk-around shots. Loved it.

GoPole - I also have one of these. I do like it and it provides a wider angle of view when doing selfies. I think it lets you take a steadier shot, too. However I did not use it as much as The Bobber and I think it will be cumbersome to carry around the parks. I will bring it on our Disney trip since it will fit in a suitcase but I don't think I will carry it every day.

You will definitely need more than the battery that comes with the camera - also be aware that the camera itself does not come with a battery charger - you can only charge it via USB. You can buy 2 Wasabi brand batteries that fit the GoPro and a wall charger for about $20 on eBay. They are highly recommended and a fraction of the price of GoPro spare batteries. Battery life is about the same as the GoPro brand.

I also bought the anti fog inserts and have yet to use them, but wondering if the Florida humidity in August will drive me to need them?...:rotfl2:

As for carrying it all, I just stuff it in my regular DSLR camera bag... it doesn't take up too much more space.
