There is no slow period at WDW any more it seems with free dining and room specials they are constantly running. I think WDW is busier on the weekends which was the only time I could visit when I had my AP.

My plan right now is to head with the family to Orlando January 2nd, 2014 and fly back on the 10th so we have 6 full days to visit Disney Parks and 2 days at Universal. So basically Friday to Friday.

I am thinking that since we are limited to 2 days at Universal and since it will take us a bit longer to get there (Cab from a Disney Hotel) and since they close a bit earlier that it would make sense to do the Universal thing on say the Monday and Tuesday or perhaps Monday and Wednesday.

This would mean 2 of the days at Disney would be busier days but we do have 6 days for 4 parks (we won't be doing any of the water parks even if they are open) so we should be good. I appreciate any opinions.

I think that would be a great idea but keep in mind both parks could still be pretty busy the first couple of weeks of the new year. After about the 7th of January, crowds seem to calm down quite a bit. It happened this year so I expect it again next year. Also...Transformers opens at the Studios this summer so there will be plenty of people wanting to ride the new attraction next holiday season.

Good to know maybe we can hold off for a week or two. The nice part about going on the second is that I am already off work from Christmas until New Years every year for work. Taking holidays right after would mean I would get 2 1/2 to 3 weeks off in a row which would be very cool but I do want my DS (10) to be able to go on as much stuff as possible.

I'm guessing the first week would still be way down from Summer numbers at least if we do go then.

Oh and this is totally a secret. The DW and DS know nothing about this. I've told the inlaws as I thought they might want to come along. So it is kind of nice that I just get to decide but it means I have to decide well or I'll hear about it later. :)

That's great! :thumbsup2
