We are trying to decide wether or not to request a certain floor for our upcoming trip at POP...we have a 4 yr old and a 1 yr old...and I can think of pros and cons for each, like ground floor means no waiting for an elevator or trekking up stairs, but a top level means nobody above you running or right outside your door walking by late, etc...so just wondering what you all think? I know I'm worrying far too much about every detail but I would love to hear some insight from all you experienced DISers! :confused3 Thanks!

I had third floor my first trip and 4th floor on my second. I love being up high, you just seem to be able to see so much more. I think that if I had small children with me though, I would probably prefer the first floor for the reasons you've already mentioned.

Good luck!

Pop has excellent elevators - but I preferred the steps.

like higher floors.

in your situation will your children sleep with people going by outside. If no - then definitely go for higher floor.

yes it takes a couple more minutes to get to the food court than the first floor.

but if your kid sleeps better - it is not a high cost to pay.

We had a ground floor at Pop and loved it. We are definately 'ground floor people'. I hate bothering with elevators/stairs at the end of the day. Its easier to run to the food court to refill a mug,etc....

We were on the 'main route' of the 60s and only heard someone pass our room once in the morning. I keep hearing all these reports of how noisy it is to be near the pool and ground floor, and found the EXACT OPPOSITE. The resort was FULL and we heard noise, around 830am, ONCE. Some kid had a meltdown because her mother wouldn't get her a stuffie like one in our window. We had no pool noise,etc....
I have a review in my siggie, take a peek.

Wow! So many great points...thanks for all of your feedback!! I guess any floor will probably be fine...maybe I'll just let it fly? We will be there March 27-April 3, so not sure but I think it will be pretty packed...considering we're arriving at around 9 pm, I probably wouldn't get my request anyway! Just really can't wait to be there!!!

I've never given a request, just took what I got, and I plan to do that on my next trip. I just like to feel like I was "magically" given the right room!

I will tell you what I do. It may sound silly, but it seems to work for me. I always request a top floor room in a corner or at the end of a hall. That means that my headboard is usually on an outside wall with NO Neighbors!! And you only have to worry about 1 neighbor and the one below you. It has always worked for me. Have a great time!
